I just watched the DVD of "Love Actually" starring just about everyone and one of the trailers before the movie was for the new Peter Pan movie. I am 99.9% certain they are using Jack Wall's Exile theme!

Take a listen and see what you think!!

Peter Pan Trailer Music (http://forums.guildofgreeters.com/uploads/peterpan.wma) (FYI:-This movie trailer isn't the same one I saw in the theatre or the one on the Peter Pan Movie web-site).

Exile Music (this excerpt taken from Endgame) (http://forums.guildofgreeters.com/uploads/exile.wma)

I take that back I am certain it's the same music! It's not even jsut similar it's identical!

Don't worry, they got permission to use the Exile theme in their trailer.

On the other hand, what about the music on the Aura website? (http://www.auragame.com/us/index.html) (Aura is a new game coming out. There is a thread on the Uru (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=400102&f=1981034&m=289109463) forums about it). Listen to it for a while and you will here a theme remarkably similar to Exile start playing.

And they said it was an original score... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/51.gif

Yes, that is definately the Exile theme. Interesting.

Yes, the Aura music, although not exact, is definately very close.

o_o then I wasn't the only one? LOL, I was half listening to the trailer while writing, and I look up just as it ends realizing I've heard that musice before! LOL I passed it off though as being too excited for Myst 4 while in that half-realm of reality where I go when I write. LOL XD

Yes, I noticed that too, and was very disappointed when they didn't use it in the actual movie. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
That would have been cool... But still a good movie, eh? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Can you say lack of creativity?... I absolutely abhor when movie trailers use music from other movies or shows. K-19 used music from Gladiator, Master and Commander used music from the Sci Fi Children of Dune miniseries theme. Why not just use music from their own soundtrack??... corperate laziness..

Aura seems interesting, but still too much trying to go for that 'myst' feeling... I mean the subtitle is "The fate of the ages", and of course the sort of Riven drums, and the incredibly uncreative Exile theme use.

I played a bit of Aura at E3. It really doesn't resemble the Myst games much at all, apart from being a graphical adventure with puzzles. The visual style is very different, more "painted" and less "rendered", and massive rather than intimate landscapes. Struck me as more similar to Syberia or Longest Journey, in that you play as a particular character with particular goals; you even see yourself during dialogues.

Looked fun; will definitely get it.
