As most of you can tell, I usually fly LW planes, and the 190 exclusively unless the option doesnt exist.

Well, yesterday, the blue team was stacking up a 3:1 advantage, so I started to fly allied. For some fun, I went to the Warclouds TeamSpeak server, although I prefer to fly alone or with squad mates.

This was very fun. I flew with some RAF squad guys and a couple of others. They were entertaining to listen to and talk with. I made a sorry attempt to do some ground pounding (I never claimed to be a good ground attacker) and mostly flew the harder Allied types, P-47, P-38. It was fun, nevertheless; clearing people's six, dragging bandits for others to shoot at, and discussing general FM/DM modeling. I was actually quite surprised at how nice everyone was.

There is no real point to this thread, just wanted to express my enjoyment over the whole affair.

I dont think I will soon be a convert to Allied planes, and I doubt I will ever give up my FW's, but flying with some of you was a blast anyway.

Hello Fehler http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Yes, War_Clouds is a lot of fun due to the settings and the crowd they attract. It is fun to fly for Axis as well. I love 109's for some reason. I have been your teammate as well as your foe. I enjoy flying the allied planes at times. Good flying with you.

The WC TS crowd is good bunch of folks to hang out with. Its a shame more people don't use teamspeak on the server.

I was drinking beer zooming people w my Mustang! IT was great fun. "Full switch" is the only way for me. I got deep into BF109-land and put all my HVAR and 1000Lbs on their tarmac, but soon enough i had a pack of jerrys on my az, and i got to have it.

Fun as no other game.

Odd that you say Blue was "heavy". The last few times I've flown there it has been almost a 2:1 Red advantage.

Nonetheless, I popped into the WC TS server to see how many were using it and saw 7 reds on coms to 2 blues...ouch!

As it turned out, I flew a few decent sorties with Talus and we had a nice chat. Was really too bad more guys weren't using the TS option.

btw. I flew for almost 5 hrs with only 3 breaks of less than 10 min. and didn't get deathkicked. Not bragging, just pointing out the fact that it IS possible to fly (even aggressively) and survive.

If you want fun..join WarClouds around 7-11 pm EST. There is usually about 10 of us on TS and it's a riot. I ahve flown with Sodbuster, and Pepper, and Mort....alot lately and we ahve a blast. last night flew 4 missions over Belegrod and never lost a life. it is entirely possible to survive with out getting 3 deaths.

I was on blue for a short spell.

Normally, I'm a ground-pounder. I rain fiery death upon my unsuspecting foe.
But since the death-kick has been in effect, I have had to
switch to fighters in order to stay connected for more than 10 mins http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

For some days i flew red, mainly because all the TS guys were on red
but since there was always too few blues, I took the plunge and turned blue.

I learned, that it will probably take me a couple of days (at least) to get
the hang of the blue planes. They are not easy on the fighter-noob.
Maybe I'll just hang a AB500 under my FW and drop it from
7K on the furball below http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/784.gif

Anyway, TS is a great addition to the game, although I'm not a talkative kind of guy
(balances out the motormouth I married), it
really is helpfull to have the bogeys called when they are
inbound.

Had loads of fun, and will be back for more.

Stay on the bomb run boys. I'm goin' to get them doors open if it hare lips everybody on Bear Creek

Diablo is right-on about the 'hot' times to play red. I've been on several times with those guys and its almost always a riot... espcially with Chipmunk Zero Niner!

I'll also share a memorable occasion on War_Clouds...

On my last sorte of the night a while back we (the allied team) had assembled a large fighter cap above our base between relentless waves of Jerry fighters. The next wave of Axis planes came in and a massive furball ensued. To our amazement we downed all the Axis planes without loss to our own. My closing comment was.."we kicked their ar### all the way back to Berlin". The entire affair was classic good fun on War_Clouds http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

I would just like to make a small plea to you Warcloud pilots. Please if you have an oppurtunity to clear a teamates 6 please do. I saw my wingman get shot down because another fellow teammate waited to long to take a shot. Even if the bandit is out of convergence range it is very important to try and spook him or make him realize the longer he persues the more likely he will be hit. It is a better team tactic to clear you buddies six then it is to wait for the "kill shot", many pilots will count on help when dragging the opposition. Thx all and S!

All good points my Brother. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I know I feel better when you're in the air on our team. Even if we're not on coms at the time. We need to get on the WC TS channel sometime soon. If you happen to see me on, give a shout and we'll...er...chat.

We have a private vent server that is open, Madako has jioned us before. Unfortuently Thrud has issues about ventrilo which I personally think is much better then teamspeak. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif We use version 2.0, it doesnt lag the game and it much more crisp sounding then TS. But yeah I can use TS also, no worries.

I've heard ppl mention sound quality comparison between vent and TS. Makes me wonder, since TS gives our squad crystal clear sound. Perhaps ppl are setting up their channel with the wrong Codec?

Try 12.3, works great.

Yeah that was me. I had a pony all over me (probably <100m) and I dragged him right in front of a 109 (<100m back from him). The mustang is tagging me over and over and the 109 is just manuvering around for a kill shot (maybe he heard to many hartmann stories about 1 shot 1 kill?). Eventually another 109 joined in, but he couldnt get a shot as the first 109 was in the way. It went on for what seemed like 10 mins, but was probably more like 1 min. Still quite along time when you are being pelted with .50s. Eventually the p51 exploded me and shortly after the 109 decided to start firing. OOF! I asked him what he was doing and he said something about he only helps his friends?!?!
