View Full Version : 1.22 bug ?

01-28-2004, 09:20 PM
While flying in quick mission builder I often experience a problem when my plane suddendly starts dramatically to roll to the left and I have to balence it out by pulling right on the joystick. It is as though the aerilons suddenly become extremely trimmed to the left. I have only had this problem after 1.22 installed and it has only occured on quick mission builder, campaign seems fine.

I think it might only occur when carrying bombs, have to play more to find out though

Have you tried using trim? In the P-39, I center the ball with rudder trim, then counter the resulting rudder-induced roll with aileron trim. Every plane is a little different.

Good Luck

might be a joystick issue... what stick are you using?

Actually i have this exact same issue. And personally i dont think its a joystick issue but something screwy with FB after the patch. The main reasons beeing:

#1 I never had this problem before 1.22
#2 Its not consistant; sometimes online, it suddenly kicks in making the plane dramaticly roll to left, almost feels like beeing wounded with a big hole thru the wing.
#3 After a while (for example afer respawning) it can go away without warning, going back to normal performance.
#4 I have a Logitech freedom 2.4 cordless stick, ob_swe has the same model and he got the exact same issue after 1.22. Seems unlikely both sticks would go bad at the same time (after 1.22).

Edit: (it doesnt seem to be related to any payload, bombs etc.. at least for me)
Thats my take on it anyway, seems more ppl have this problem other than ob_swe and myself. That would be an extreme coincidence if it was a stick problem http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

change the batterys? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif And maybe it IS a hole in the wing, with the new sounds it is possible to go unnoticed http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Thats a negative, tried replacing batteries and it has happened with a totally fresh set as well. And its happened right after take-off too...no enemies in sight for miles around...

Is it plane-specific? What plane/s are you experiencing this with?
I've not had this happen.

As far as i can remember, it has only happened with bf109 variants, but that can be because i fly 109s about 80 - 90% of the time....

This is a trim issue...since 1.21 many of the planes start out with offcenter rudder and aileron trim.

You just have to trim it out and it's just fine.

I've had it too, defenitely not trim.
Might be something with the stick though, I don't have that cordless stick, but it is a Logitech....
It happens in all kinds of single-engined planes, never had it in my trusty He-111.

yes this is irritating. I have same stick as olli.
The effect of it is the same being shot in the wing( constatly pulling left). the strange thing is that it can dissappear after respawning and act normal again.

I pretend my machine has been sabotaged and start cursing in finnish and swedish. It doesnt fix the problem....but U never know...

Hmmmm.... I fly 109s too in QMB. I've never had this problem. Could be a joystick issue. I've got a CH flightstick pro. Simple stick so maybe other sticks exhibit this problem . Hope you clear it up soon.

The funny thing is that I encounterd this problem when I was trying out my FF stick (again) wich is a Logitech.Never had it before with my MS sidewinder.Could it be a logitech driver vs 1.22 issue??

yeah, It might be joystick driver... I have a MS sidewinder and haven't noticed any difference between 1.21 and 1.22 in this regard... one of my campaigns went screwy (no map?!) but apart from that 1.22 is sweeeeeet http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
Hope you get your prob sorted out-

I've noticed this with elevator trim since the 1.22 patch. On the LA-5FN in particular. When I start the takeoff roll the trim is full up and I have to make a huge adjustment to the trim before the takeoff or the plane is nearly uncontrollable. This only happened after the patch, so I'd be surprised if it was the Joystick Drivers. I have a Logitech Wingman 3D Force.

WHOOPS SORRY aint I an idot

Problem was that I had not installed 1.22 patch properly. Unziped to wrong drive. Problem all gone now.

I feel really guilty that people replied to my post trying to help me out with a problem that didn't even exist for 1.22.

I deserve some kind of punishment!
