It's awesome! My dad and I just ordered a nice computer from Dell with a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb card in it. Any suggestions for settings to put IL2 FB on? Should I go for excellent?

I'm a flight computer technician for NASA, and I can tell you right now, you don't want to go and spoil yourself on that machine as such a tender young age. What you will need to do, is leave it in the box. Go ahead and forward that pakage to the shipping address I will provide below. I will send you my pieced together Frankenstien machine with a hardly used ATI 7000 (PCI) with 32 MEG and a Celeron processor in a black case with one tan cd drive, and one white one. You'll want to lay it on it's side, for some reason the power supply shorts out when I set it upright, then you'll need to open the side of the case and get yourself one of those box fans, it tends to get a little hot on its side. It will run IL-2 FB in stunning 640X480 VGA, well it would be VGA if the monitor weren't monochrome green. Anyway... you are going to love it!

Trust me, you'll thank me when you are older.

He's just joking, mate, don't get worked up over it. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

About your specs.

You are getting a mean card, don't hold on the settings, and go all the way to perfect, in opposed to excelent.

BTW, can you go back on that computer order, or is it done allready?

You can get a far better PC with custom build, then going on that shiznit Dell.

Lots of guys around here that can give you excelent specs.
And to top it off, you'l even save on money, that otherwise will be poorly invested on a Dell.

Think about, and check with your father if you can still go back.

I hope you've got a monitor, that takes the 1600x1200 resolution, to make the 9800pro sweat /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Played on a 9800pro with full FSAA/AA on 1600x1200 with perfect/excellent setting. Looked quite nice.... /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Yeah i just got a ATI 9700....i can go to excellent on everything with smooth runs. Although landscape detail can be set to perfect the frame rate sucks with it....look on page 5 of the FB manual. It might work with the 9800 though...

I've also got a 9700Pro and I run on perfect with better than 60 FPS. Make sure you run Catalyst 3.7's.

here it is my suggestion, run it in 1600X1200@32 with exellent settings. dont worry you still able to pull atleast 35FPS, assuming you bought top of the line systems.
