Is it a Me-109 with FW-190 wings and tail?

yeah - somebody has done a real photoshop job http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif

The wings are FW, the cockpit is a weird combo of both 109(front) and 190(rear). Nose is form a 109 (I think) and fuselage/tail are 190.....

What is the FM like?

They should take Fb109 and Fw190 and attach them together at the wings and run it through the computer and see what happens and slip it into the Patch.

Woohoo a 5 cannon 109! red flyers worst nightmare http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Did you do this? or do you know the guy who did it?
I ask you because I like it very much. Though to me 190 Dora is the best looking German fighter (and then He-100), I also like very much the idea of a cheap, small, short range, maneuvrable fighter that 109 series represented. I never understood why Messerschmitt stubbornly refused to design an update to Bf-109 series (Me-309 and then Me-209 were not replacements for Bf-109, they were competing designs in 190 Dora category (over 4 tonnes of weight)), especially when Luftwaffe insisted on using lightweight fighters despite RLM lack of enthousiasm.

I would have liked to see on a '44 Bf-109 a bubble canopy and the wide landing gear of Fw-190. Though the Bf-109 landing gear was much more practical from storage and maintainance point of view than wide landing gear of 190, it gave serious troubles to unexperienced pilots that used it on improvised airfields as there were most on Eastern Front. Also I would have not refused the more modern looking wing and vertical tail of the Fw-190 as you have in this picture http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Can you do an update with a Bf-109K4 nose? it looks much more aggressive.
I would love to see that, in different perspectives! you made a convert out of me http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

So what about some mutant planes from the USA or the USSR? Germany can't be the only place which has romantically-lit hangars...

Not if those 12 rudder panels could also be used as aelerons, right? In other words, turning left and right would require the same movement from all 12, but rolling could be accomplished by turning six one way and the other six the other. Think of it as a vertical wing rolling to be horizontal again. I'm not saying that thing's flyable, just that it's roll rate would actually be quite nice. No?

The TIE one would be even cooler if it had the verts more widely spaced (allowing for more "wing" inbetween) and ditched the rear v-stab (why would it need it?). It would give it just that much more believability. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Propably yes.

http://www.nausicaa.net/miyazaki/porco/faq.html#savoia

Q: What is Porco's plane?

A Savoia S.21. There is actually a real Italian made Savoia S.21, but it doesn't look much like the one Porco flies. Miyazaki didn't know much about the real S.21 when he designed Porco's plane. His design came from a plane he saw when he was a boy. Porco's S.21 looks somewhat like the Macchi M.33.

her is a tutorial to create your own uberplane(if there is somthing that you don't understand because my english is not perfect ask me),
_1 the grab :
the most important thing is to a the same point of view from a grab to an other in order to have an approximativly correct perspective
for my garb i center the external view behind the plan ( make the game in pause just after the star of the misson to a your plane in level flight )
then i use the stick hat to move the view, for exemple I count 3 clic left and 1 clic up (it give the same angle as mw199,to start i think this is
the best angle because the wings don't hide the fusalage) then adjust cam zoom (i think it's better to use zoom preset than mouse zoom)
the zoom depent of what you want to do.exemple : for the tie komet i use a higher some to grb the nose of the ju88 to have a better rez.
when u got what u whant u can grab.(for the tie komet to have the good persp for the wings i do a 45? right and a 45? left and try to keep the
plan parallel to the horizon line)
_2 photoshop tool :
open your grab in photoshop, select one of the document as a base and import other inside by clic slide in your base doc.
use the move tool (first line of the tool box the one at right) to place them like u want u can adjust the opacity of upper layer in the layer panel
(right down of the screen by default) to see
the under layer and place the upper easily.(ducplicate your back ground layer to edit it,right clic on it
select duplicate layer.u can also change the layer order : clic slide on it an drang it up or down in the
layer panel. if u do a mistake u can undo the last step by ctrl+z, to undo more step clic in the history
panel over the layer panel.u can zoom by using the navigator panel or ctrl+ ctrl-.)
there are to tool that u need the ERASER TOOL to clear the part u whant (right clic on your doc to open the brush setting
u can adjust the diameter and the hardness=if your brush is blur or not.this setting are avalable for other brush too.)
to use the eraser tool easily hit shift key and hold it then cilc to draw perfect straight line.
the other tool you need is the CLONE STAMP TOOL, to use it select the area u want to clone by alt+left clic on it
then when u use it u can see to icon, the normal brush icon,it indicate where u are painting , and a little cross, whitch indicat
the area u are "cloning".this tool is usefull for linking the diferent part of the plane.(when u use it becarefull that u have select the good layer and go slowly with this tool because it's easy to do mistake with it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
the other tool u need are marquee tool and polygonal lasso(to select it clic on the lasso tool and hold tour clic then a menu appera and u can select the polygonal one) use those tool to erase part faster than with eraser tool, select the area u want
and hit suppr to delete it,use ctrl+d to deselect.becarfull to be on the good layer http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.those slection still when u select an other
layer,it can be usefull.u can invert the selection by right clic on your doc ,it open a menu,in this menu u can also duplicate your selection but copy or by cut.(to have this menu u need to keep those tool selected if u clic on an other tool,u can't have this menu. u can move your selection with the move tool.)
TO RESCALE a part draw a selection the hit ctrl+t , a selection appear then HOLD shift and clic on a CORNER to scale ( hold shift is important
because it keep proprtions of what u are scalling) to zoom in this mode use ctrl+ and ctrl-
if u want to add specular or darken an area , create a new layer ( layer panel the icon near the trash icon) the paint tool*
select a color (black or white) draw whant u want , then go to the fiter menu ( on top of the screen and select blur>gussian blur.adjust it like u want.then use the erase tool(put a small number for the hardness.) to correct little mistakes, and after in
the layer panel adjust the opacity.(u can adjust the opacity of all brush in the bar on top of the screen).
and finaly for color correction go to the image menu (top of the screen) and use hue sat, color ball,brightness/contrast.u can
do this adjustment for a single layer or for all layer.
when u have finish go to the layer menu (top screen) and select flatten image.
now u can resize the doc by using the crop tool in the tool box.
when u work don't forget to do INCREMENTAL SAVE http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
(to make your image more clear u can use the sharpen filter in the filter menu).
to improve your render u can use fiter(but stay reasonable http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif like film grain or by adding a new layer fill with a color of your choise, and an opacity
and layer mode adjustment (the layer is by default on "normal" in the layer panel).

and don't forget that the idea is more important than the result it self.

By 1945 Hungary's main aircraft factories were destroyed by the heavy bombing of the capital. Once again, necessity won over usefulness, so we simply merged whatever airframes, wings, engines we had and sent them all into battle. Here you can see the glorious Weiss-Manfred WM-2000-109 as preparing for a takoff.

Or explosive bolts to detach the wing and the engine altogether from the plane prior bailing out.

Then we'll get the true flying wing. Lol

Ha ha ha, and what is the purpose of the center engine, the one behind the pilot? My guesses are it is to run the air conditioning pump, maybe a Rommel tactic(make them think there are too many planes to fight), used to drain fuel in an emergency landing, or the spare parts department. Yep, any one of those ideas could have worked. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/88.gif

Harry dont know if you knew but
At the end of 1935 Airspeed was invited to tender for a high speed fighter to specification F35/35. The firm submitted a highly unconventional design with a pilot egg-shaped nacelle positioned behind the machine itself. The main reason for such layout was giving the pilot extremely good view in the air and on landing approach in particular. The well proven 745hp Kestrel engine combined with clean aerodynamic shape was to give the aircraft an exceptional performance. This was proved by testing a wind-tunnel model. Unfortunately, this revolutionary design was too ahead of its time and was soon cancelled. One of the reasons was that due to the position of the nacelle a pilot would hardly withstand high g-loads on tight manoeuvres.
Specifications:
Length....................29ft 6in
Span........................33ft
Wing area..............195sq.ft
Estimated speed...450mph
Armament...8 x .303" Browning machine guns
