I've just installed beta drivers and gained 10-15 fps boost. In areas where I had lowest 40 fps now i have 55-60 fps. Everything is set to max except AA on FXAA, only in cafe theatre area fps is lowest 51 fps but in any other area is 60 fps.

If you have Geforce Experience is easy. Just enable Beta drivers.

Just install the driver if u need proof..I don`t have any ss from the driver before this one..u know it`s not that hard to install a driver. If u don`t believe me don`t install the driver I really don`t care. There are places in the game when last night I`ve had about 55 fps and know, with this driver, I have from 65 up to 77 fps.
That is on a machine with i7 + GTX 980 G1,G-Sync @ 1080p.
Also this is not the first time when nV don`t mention all the fixes in their drivers...

I don't see why this new driver would improve anything in regards to AC:U. The driver details doesn''t state any improvements made to AC.

Yes i can confirm, i gained 10 FPS on my 970 GTX, it used to hover at 43 FPS on avg, now its sitting on 53-55 FPS. resolution is 2560 x 1440 and everything is on ultra except PCSS not turned on (Shadows on High) and FXAA.

Not the first time for Nvidia to not mention improvements for specific games, most probably they will that in WHQL.

Oke, Let me tell you guys, Before i had a lot of FPS and framerate problems. But now after i installed the new Beta driver of Nvidia, Unity play's with no problems at all. Very smooth no hik-ups no nothing. I play with a 970GTX all specs on Ultra and highest possible.
Somehow Nvidia fixed all of my problems, what Ubisoft itself didn't do. The Ironie.

So if thi new driver is so good in this game (no more fps drops, hikups, etc) who needs to install the 6GB+ upcoming ACU patch? C'mon guys, let's be serious.

Didn't do much testing but it seemed in general you get more times where its 5-10fps better in many streets. I still get the same decrease at café theatre and a couple of other demanding places.

Hmm im playing on same settings and resolution(downsampling) as you and im mostly averaging 43-44 FPS even with this driver
also gtx 970 g1 gaming overclocked by 11% on core an 12 on memory am i missing something?

Thats a engine problem not driver.

@Voyager456
Use DDU before installing the new driver. When many ppl see a boost in performance but u don`t ,then the problem is on your side.

You didnt understand me corectly i do get better performance i just dont understand how is yaz x getting 10 FPS more on average than me with same card
maybe it is something on my end though all other games are performing as they should btw can you test how much is your average at 1440p.

windows 8.1
970
4790k
16gb
ram
1080p
fullscreen

(is it me or is the window without borders now broken? its has big black bars around it)

before driver, 47 to 64 v sync off, max setting but no AA and shadows on low

after drivers, max out but no AA, shadows on high

v sync on, rock solid 60 fps (once every rare time a 1 sec drop to 30)

v sync off 60 to 100 fps (avg around 70)
...............

now i will make sure my ACU patch is set to off just in case ubi breaks it after patch 4.

that the performance we should have been getting with a game like this.

after patch 4 with the down grade to the city i mean "Rebuild" new code i may be able to say this game is a buy at 10 to 20$ if it wasn't for the story being so bad.

i dont know its not like they didnt optimize for cards that arent 900 series so people buy them but instead people see whats happening and realize they are getting duped and have to get as many frames as possibly because theyre playing 900p on all low with 30 fps on an mid to high level 700 series card while a 280 which a 770 outperforms consistently is playing at 1080p ultra.....THATS F****** WHY!!!!

Okay I am running at1080P with the beta drivers.. at some streets FPS has shot up to consistent 60 FPS.. remains the same old 40 ish FPS at notre dame and cafe theatre.. At 1440p 30-45 fps at all times.. i have a EVGA GTX 970 SC running at 1386 Mhz , 8gb 2133 mhz RAM and a i5-4690K.. wonder how we get the difference..Anything I am missing?

Hey guys,

My CPU is i7 3770k OCed to 4.5
RAM Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 16GB 1600Mhz OCed to 1866 Mhz
Gigabyte Windforce3 970 GTX OCed to 1525 Mhz Core and 8 GHz Memory
Game Graphics Settings:
All Ultra Except Shadows on High since PCSS kills performance
HABO+
AA FXAA
Bloom Off
Stretching Off
Resolution 2560 x 1440

GPU OC Settings (WORKS FOR ME DOESNT MEAN IT WILL WORK FOR YOU, IF YOU WANT TO USE IT, DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK, GPUS TEMPS ARE NOT THE ONLY FACTOR THAT YOU SHOULD MONITOR WHEN OCING, THERE ARE VRMS WHICH GET VERY HOT WHEN OCING AND YOU COULD POSSIBLY DAMAGE YOUR CARD IF NOT CAREFUL):

Power limit --> 112
Core +180
Memory +475
Core Voltage +0 which results in max stock at 1.225v

FPS After new Drivers:

Avg 53-55
Max 80 (My Monitor Oced Refresh Rate)
Min 39-42

Before Drivers:

Avg 43-45
Max 65
Min 33

There is something important i have noticed with this game, Day-Time settings affect performance massively, at day time i get the best FPS, other day settings cause FPS to drop, seems something is not right there for lighting and reflections.

Hoping the new drivers fixes some things. But these dots are still at my estate in MSAA & TXAA. It's really annoying. Hope the patch this week will fix it. Because I don't wanna play with blurry FXAA on with my high end PC.

unfortunately it caused constant stuttering for me as well as freezing every few minutes.... I always use driver sweeper before installing due to a long history of nvidia driver related misery. Rolled back to the old 344.60 no stuttering and played 30 minutes without 1 freeze.

Anything over 30fps is great and my 970 exceeds that nearly all the time

just a little off topic, but your 600w PSU looks a little on the small size to cope with the CPU overclock and gtx970 overclock, especially as its not a prestige brand. I would be careful overclocking with that brand of PSU.

have you checked your voltages on full gaming with cpu-id or gpu-id to make sure you're not starving any resources of power

i run pretty much the same set up with an i5-4670k and msi gtx970 4gb o/c gaming gpu @ 1500hz and i'm running a 850w psu

Silverstone are actually good Power supplies. Also a 970 is low on power consumption, its uses a max of 180W. His CPU is a 90W part and the OC won't add much. You can run 970 SLI with a 650W PSU. Sorry but you're putting out misinformation there.

The old power hungry cards such as the GTX 480 and power hungry CPUs such as the i7 930 are completely fine or a reasonably branded 600W. He doesn't have some generic PSU that's falls way below 600W branding.

GTX 480 = up to 300w
Old CPU = 150W

As a side note, in the drivers under 3D settings, you can select Prefer maximum performance under Power management mode

I also noticed a significant boost in performance with the beta drivers. Prior to the drivers, I was getting an avg 43fps around the cafe theatre. After installing the beta drivers it was solid around 55-60fps. So a big increase, especially for that area. Only a few areas around the city now cause the frame rate to drop back down to the 40s, though it's not exactly clear what's causing it. Game still freezes though, and still crashed on me.

Can confirm: I got a legit 10fps avg increase with the new beta drivers. There must have been some issues with the previous drivers and the 970s as this driver also made BF4 and FC4 smoother as well.

I tested using FRAPS benchmark test tool and I am still on version 1.3 of ACU.
