Good news! The Fiat BR20 medium bomber is now available as an AI plane (and soon hopefully to be flyable) in FB/AEP... if you use a bit of imagination.

The Fiat BR20 shares an uncanny resemblance to the B25c. They are both slab-sided, twin-(radial) engined, twin-ruddered bombers with wingspans and lengths within 3 feet of each other and top speeds within 20 mph. OK I know that the Fiat could never live up to the early Mitchell, but on paper...

I would be interested in views on this idea. As I am not a skinner, are there any skinners out there who would be kind enough to do a couple of B25c in Italian markings, say 1 in green/brown to use for the planes based in Belgium and another in Mediterranean camo.

The stock FB B25c has invasion stripes which spoils the several attacks made by the BR20s on the East Anglian coast between October and December 1940. There is already a skin of one of the escorting CR42 Falcos available by Tchaika and maybe extreme_1 might like to add a couple of missions to his BoB campaign....

I believe the BR20 also saw service in Greece, Russia and the Balkans. This idea of faking it may seem unrealistic to some but this has been done several times before (Il4 > Betty, even DB3 > B17!)

Just use your imagination and immerse!

What are you talking about?!
An "uncanny resemblance"... LOL http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

For one moment, you got me. Now I'm disappointed... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I'm confused here... can't find BR20, I have AEP 2.01.

BR20 is being in service for Italian forces during BoB. Hopefully they'll put him into BoB(too?).

Sorry to disappoint you, but the Br.20 and the B-25 have nothing in common apart from metallic construction, two engines and being bombers with double rudders.

It would be like saying that a P-47 and a Fw.190 are alike.

They are not.

The Br.20 was an earlier design, with far less powerful engines and armament, and it was totally outclassed by the Mitchell.
