I have 2 German Sheperds ,one is a half breed i guess he has a long/heavy black coat(brother found him as a young pup on a building site and gave him to me)he drives me crazy at times but love em to bits and even though he is very big he is good with young kids, sometimes he can be over playfull (like one time he knocked over my nephew who was 2 years at the time he was only a puppy at the time also though( my nephews mother freaked, my brother just laughed
LOL!), the other is pure breed German shep great dog but cats, I had one or two as a kid
great pet also http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

had a small dwarf-Dachs long haired, she was so lovly. when we bought her, we had the hole bunch to choose from, 11 puppies, but we took the one hiding/sleeping behind the curtain :-).

We later got a cat, white Norwegian forrest cat (bushy kinda thing with LOADS of furr all over) with blue eyes, we later found out that this beutifull cat couldent hear a thing, deaf from birth...

strange thing is, that my Dachs (Sissi) somehow knew the cat/kitten couldent hear, and became a big sister for it sort of, allways looking for it and what it was doing. and the cutest thing was when they both where curved into one big ball, brown/black and white, sleeping in the chair.

too bad we had to move, and into the city, so we had to put the kitten to "sleep".

the dog got to be 11 years old, then she got cancer, so we had to put here to "sleep" aswell. if i ever get a place of my own, i think of buying a Dachs again, had many good memmories of that dog :-)

Actually, a kitty joined my little family this week, too. Our neighbours were evicted from the townhouse next to ours on the 30th, and the scumbags abandoned a little kitten when they left (you've got to love people, eh?). Being kindly folks, my girlfriend and I took her in. I've spent the last two days slowly introducing her to our two basset hounds. Good lord, I need a rest http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

Edit: Thanks for sharing the pic, Uther. This forum can always use some warm-and-fuzzies.

Yeah, but dogs don't scratch, don't shred the furniture and don't climb onto the mantlepiece and knock everything off - having been both a cat person and currently a dog person I know the joys and horrors of looking after both.

Cute kitten, though. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I love all pets, but I rather have cats. They're both kind and intelligent, but dogs behave as slaves, whilst cats act like comrades. They have dignity.

Here is my own, Mos. 14 years and still fresh as a kitten.

I love cats! I agree that the really do act more as "comrades" rather than slaves, they really do seem to have their own agenda.

Kids and Pets...some of the very best moments in Life!!

Here's Pookie...A $15 pet shop undocumented mix breed (Schnauzer and Keeshound)2 month old puppy... Shown below at the age of Eleven years wearing her $1500 Knee-operation Cast...metal pins and other things lashing her together inside there:
http://imagehost.vendio.com/preview/wi/wileycoyote2/Pookie1forUbi.jpg
Not to be confused with her $1000 Throat bandage of five years earlier following the removal of the swallowed Fish Hook! ...and then there was that darned Barbed wire fence one time that got between her and a tasty looking rabbit; now That was one Expensive $250 rabbit dinner...if she'd ever actually gotten to it!

BUT, she's been my best friend and companion(My grown daughter went off to live her single-life and I inherited Pookie about seven years ago, for the duration it appears)and she has been worth every penny!!! She's thirteen now, but still amazingly as spright and Reckless as any 6 month old puppy, and she is and will always be my Desktop wallpaper! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif :
