Does anyone wish to share any fiction they may have wrote? It could be just a simple battle report from SHII or perhaps your writing a story and you'd like to give us an extract. Anything, just post it here. Thanks. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif

A good fiction book I believe should be something very detailed in the way a sub operates and feels. The life on board to include accurate sounds and description of smells should make the best seller list. Best way is to read all you can about Uboats. I have a library in my home dedicated to just factual Uboat stories and some from the Allied perspective. I would take a guess that maybe the dev team was inspired in the same way as I was. Although I havent been able to visit any Uboat static displays. Most are way too far from where I live.

Are you implying that you wish to make a fiction book?

Oh no no. I'm not writing a book. I just thought it would be interesting to read something that someone has made. Just an idea for the forums. I don't expect many results like, sinceyou'd have to be pretty hardcore to write a book about them (hardcore's good right? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif)

Hardcore can be good! If you want to read an excellent submarine book check out 'Gallant Lady - The story of USS Archerfish' I just finished it and it is excellent. With some of the things these guys did, it reads like fiction!

Sidenote: The Archerfish is credited with sinking the largest ship ever sunk by a sub; The Japanese carrier Shinano, which was originally built as a sister ship to Yamato, unitl they realized they needed more carriers than battleships.

(One more interesting Off topic, but at least regarding boats and buoyancy. They have build the bridge along the Danube coast and tomorrow they're going to turn it over the river using a couple of boats and steel ropes. If U R interested check out the web cams:

For the people that speak Spanish in this forum, you can go the forum of the 24th Flotilla. There is a dedicated subforum section for fiction histories created by the gamers themselves. Lots of interesting, fun or scaring histories there.

You must be joking,i have a hard enough time trying to make myself understood to be thinking about writing fiction.
