It' a liiiiitle bit too early, but:

This is a sequel to the "Paris,Paris,Paris...." thread, which i really liked. Here you can post info and images(interiors and exteriors) of the most important London monuments of that time. Also, you can share map, locate important landmarks at them and speculate on the ingame map size. Finally, you can also share media from other movies/tv series/video games taking place at that time.

So,from the leaked images it seems like London is a worse version of Paris.Maybe the foggy atmosphere can change that.

I think the artistic direction/ambition is an excellent idea. I'm excited.

I'm also wondering if we're looking at a trilogy. Unity/Victory/somethingy

The fact I prefer real life Paris by a large margin over real life London does not mean is going to be the same ingame wise. I´m looking forward to the dynamic weather that inexplicably and inexcusably was absent from Unity in the likes of the famous fog for instance. Also, I´m intrigued to see if we will able to get in the London Underground and how.

From this image if this is really in game, it looks like London for me could be the best city ever explored in AC.

http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--37fPXtJw--/c_fit,fl_progressive,q_80,w_636/uau2qi8cfqwdanmksr9y.jpg

I mean look at those stunning street lights and the chimneys throughout Industrial London with the 1:1 scale being present. It looks very artistic, almost like concept art. I hope they go with a dark and foggy theme. Maybe because I am from England its got me more excited than I should be but man that viewpoint is absolutely magnificent. Loving the atmosphere. Hopefully, this will actually be present when the full game hits.

That does look amazing!!!!!! However I'm from England... and for that reason I am not excited... I just find it boring because the reason I love AC is to explore foreign lands that I dreamed I went to and times of which I had never heard of... seen London way too many times an am not really excited... gotta be a great story to keep me interested cause the setting sure as hell won't!

This version of London definitely looks better than the real deal. I hate London in real life. I think it's just because I don't like crowded cities, though.

I'm curious why they went with AC3-style HUD again. Are we with the assassins again instead of Abstergo? Animus instead of Helix?

I love this shot, the art direction is phenomenal. If the final game captures the essence of the Victorian Era as well as this target render, then Vic London will comfortably steal my top spot for greatest AC setting.

Since no one's posted any images yet, I'll get us started
In the distance: St. Paul's Cathedral

The original medieval St. Paul's was engulfed by the Great Fire of London and replaced by the newer Baroque version in the 18th century. I've been inside and it's magnificent.

On the right: The Palace of Westminster and Big Ben, as well as the River Thames

http://www.britain-magazine.com/wp-content/uploads/westminster-palace-01.gif

The river looks deceptively pristine but that's lighting trickery, it's actually murky and filthy and probably riddled with corpses.

What the protag is perched on is probably one of the towers of Westminster Abbey (medieval gothic church):

This image will probably give you a better idea of his positioning

And finally, to the far left (probably not in the field of view) you should have Downing Street where the Prime Minister and government officials reside

This is really exciting. This thread was great with Paris so I'm glad to announce that I'll be helping with this one. I'll start it for you guys. I've got some pretty big monuments identified. I was just going to do "hurr durr... this is the Big Ben" but I became immersed in the architecture and wanted to do the other ones. I downloaded Google Earth and discovered it renders buildings and trees in 3D. I used Google Maps to find things like Train Stations. I also used terms like London Dome to find Saint Paul's Cathedral since it is dwarfed now. I'm glad to do this because it is my favorite setting for an AC game. Without further ado, enjoy.

This one is a little more mysterious than Big Ben to non-UK residents. I thought this thing looked super tall but as you can see, it doesn't stand out much now. It's called Saint Paul's Cathedral and was built from 1675 to 1720.

http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m231/GoldenBoy999/saintpaul_zps4cbe898e.png

The next thing that stood out to me was the train station looking thing in the top left of the picture. There are a few stations in this area but I only found one that has this architectural style. It is the Saint Pancras Station and it was built in 1868, just in time for Victory. The in-game image does not have the buildings on the front so they may have been added later.

http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m231/GoldenBoy999/join2_zps3bc828fe.jpg

Here is a line from the viewpoint to the train station for reference. It's a lot farther than it looks in the picture.

http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m231/GoldenBoy999/distance_zps185c99e6.png

After spotting these monuments I wondered if the structure our assassin is sitting on is a real life object. This was the biggest hunt I had and was very fun. I saw a little 360 degree panoramic photo right below this tower I had found on google earth but the little tip of the tower was not in 3D. The tip of the tower in the photo was obstructed by a tree so I still didn't know if this was it. I looked up the name of the building and found this. Bingo! It is called St Margaret's and was founded in the 12th century. I think it's very cool that the artist of this shot had so much attention to detail.

http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m231/GoldenBoy999/join4_zpsd4207682.jpg

I like some of you, was curious as to what is around the assassin and what he can see. The Westminster Abbey is right behind him and it looks a heck of a lot like the Notre Dame from Paris and Unity. It was opened in 1090.

Feel free to get Google Earth and explore the area around where the assassin is sitting. It's really cool if you are a fan of London and Victory like me.

I can't wait for more pictures so I can do this again. Thanks for reading and tell me what you think, as this is my first one of these.

I'm hoping the game (or games?) can cover a decent stretch of years. Something I really liked about AC2 was the transformation in the cities. Sometimes a new chapter intro would reveal that some years had passed, and we'd see a building morph into a new shape or be replaced. Since London was growing and changing at an incredible rate, and some roads were changing from countryside into city as they were swallowed up, and then gaining proper paving over their rough land bases, it would be great to see that change taking place.

If it's 1:1 scale like Paris, I can't see that happening. It'd take a massive amount of resources to update several buildings throughout the course of the game.

I don't even remember a similar change happening in AC2.

Now I'm remembering those construction workers on the top of Il Duomo who spent 30 years doing the same work with no rest but also no progress whatsoever, there was some workers of top of the Havana cathedral, probably descendants of the Italian workers, who worked nonstop for 10 years but failed to advance the construction in any way.

Now that you mention it, it would be nice to see Christmas depicted in AC. I doubt it'll happen on a large scale (too much work), but maybe there could be a mission that takes place in a palace during a Christmas party. (And then of course we'd ruin it for everyone by killing someone.)

'Hallo!' returned the assassin.

When I first came here, this was all swamp. Everyone said I was daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built in all the same, just to show them. It sank into the swamp. So I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. So I built a third. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp. But the fourth one stayed up. And that's what you're going to get, Lad, the strongest castle in all of England.

But then I was raised in a village here (first person to say 'village idiot' get's a medal for originality *rolls eyes*), and the south downs were my playground ;)

Yeah, I suppose I can see the other side of the coin. I just fell in love with the city from my first visit and I've never lost that. Living there, would probably feel differently.

I actually forgot to state the love factor... it has amazing history :)

Now that you mention it, it would be nice to see Christmas depicted in AC. I doubt it'll happen on a large scale (too much work), but maybe there could be a mission that takes place in a palace during a Christmas party. (And then of course we'd ruin it for everyone by killing someone.)

Was the whole Santa Claus thing an erm...thing back then?

If so, we absolutely must kill Santa Claus - a Templar dressed up as him that is...

It's alright, if they put Santa Claus in the games Ubisoft can add him to their Mega Blocks collection...

Loving your sig, Golden... :)

It makes me even more hyped. ^^

Thanks so much! When someone said Victorian London I eventually loooked it up and I was surprised that it looked like a city from the 1920's which is something I was interested in. I thought it was older.

That's kinda what I was going for. I thought the quote by Tesla was cool and mysterious. I'm glad someone made a comment about my new sig.

Other than he spelled laboUr wrong ;)

Lol, sorry. I copied it straight from the quote.

Like killing 100's + human beings and animals in each game isn't already scary.

That does sound like an awesome mission. Maybe a free non-canon DLC? ;)

Of course...I really like the quote as well as you explained. :)

And you're right...it is similar to 20th century cities. :)

As long as they're "the good guys", all bad things are excused.

But when Santa does it, **** will hit the fan.

Victorian era is the period of Queen Victoria reign, goes from 1837 until 1901.

Yeah, I know. I know a pretty good deal about London so far for the short time I've researched it because I'm so interested in Victory. I said that Victorian London looked like a city from the 1920's. I thought a long time ago that the Victorian Age looked old and more 1790's-1840's but I've known for a while now the actual time period.

I like your avatar btw.
