Where do you live? I'm in Sydney and got my copy form EB. As for BOE, from what I have read you have to buy this from the justflight website.

I'm in North Queensland, but don't mind having a cd posted from a Sydney shop.

Harvey Norman "Computer Superstore" also carries AEP and Battle Over Europe - though they charge a premium for the latter (~60 clams, Aces is only 29.95).

Wow. Waves of homesickness. I'd never thought I'd see words like Capalaba, Toombul, Indooroopilly and Pinkenba on this forum.

And all in one post.

Hey Dubb, what's the story on the downed Boomerang? I've never seen that pic before.

Athos,

Is that all Harvey Norman superstores ? I'm after BoE but just can't bring myself to order over the web (if it's not on the credit card the wife knows not http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif)

The propellor is there to keep the pilot cool. Switch it off and watch them sweat!

Hi MarkGos

I picked up a copy at Harvey Norman Carindale (Brisbane). Haven't been in any other branches lately, so don't know if they have it everywhere. I did go there specifically to look for BoE though because HN tends to stock flight sim expansions/add-ons.

Cheers

Actually the shot was taken at Strathpine airfield, June 11th, 1943, IIRC this Boomerang was part of a four aircraft transfer to 83 squadron that was based at Strathpine, and had gear problems on landing.

There were 3 airfields in the area, 2 in Strathpine and one at Petrie, and they formed the main fields for the Brisbane area defence.
I know one of the Strathpine strips was situated where the Pine Rivers high school is now, and the other one was situated just south of the Strathpine train station, on the east side of South Pine Rd. Which strip had this prang though, I don't know.

It's interesting to note that the housing estate to the east of the school has a large number of streets named after WW2 aircraft, not the least of which is Spitfire Ave.
http://www.angelfire.com/falcon/nightschpanker/spitfire.jpg

There were 5 Squadrons based at the Petrie/Strathpine airfields, 2 RAAF Squadrons (12 and 83) flying Vultees and Boomers respectively, 2 RAF Squadrons (can't recall which ones) both flying Spitfires and a USAAF Squadron (80th I think) flying P400s.... I believe.

That's SE Queensland. If you're North Qld Ronbruce, there's a lot of interesting sites to visit re WW2 and aircraft...more the further north you get. FNQ is littered with crashsites http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif A lot of history around Qld.

For online in Aus I've found Gamesmarket (http://www.gamesmarket.com.au/) reputable, but there're a couple of others too. Mostly they're based in Sydney.

Damn, I'd given up.

Tried most of the stores (and the chains, EB, etc) in Melbourne, and THEY DENIED THAT IT EXISTED. IT WASN'T EVEN ON THEIR RELEASE SCHEDULE.

I HATE BEING IN A GAMING NICHE.

Was going to request my sister (UK) to send a copy over.

Can't buy online until my new card comes through...

Does anyone know of a stockist in the Greater Melbourne area? Have plane, will travel http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Go to EB games at Northland, preston. I have purchased a few games from there (LOMAC, il2fb, racedriver2) and they appear quite knowledgeable.
They did have AEP in there a few months ago, so give them a call. I might even go and grab it myself.

pat.

The gamesmarket link I provided above will ship on receipt of a money order, no need for a card.

I work in Melbourne CBD, I'll have a quick browse through the usual candidates tomorrow & let you know.

Have doubts about EB. The three I've tried can't find it on their *forthcoming attractions.*

Metro PC (Elizabeth Street opposite St Francis' Church) have FB Gold Pack (FB + AEP) on the shelf @ $79 sticker price and have AEP by itself on back order.

Mail Order Software (398 Elizabeth Street) have had both, but neither are on the shelf at the moment.

Apperently supply is unpredictable at the moment, so you may want to "haunt" Metro PC or fork for the full Gold Pack, depending on how much of a hurry you're in...

BTW, AEP wont be on forthcoming attraction lists, it's been in stores for months...

Pacific Fighters, now that's another story.
