View Full Version : How to delete savegames and start over

I played my Unity game yesterday for 6+ hours without at hitch yesterday, the just as I began to shut down for the day the game crashed, forcing my computer to re-start. Today the game will start until the main screen, crashing as soon as I press the button to "continue". I restarted, repaired my files using the Uplay utility, and ultimately deleted and re-download and re-installed the game, delete what I thought would be the local save games, and tried to re-start the game offline as someone else in the forums suggested. Much to my surprise the games started exactly where it had left yesterday, so either I did not erase the local files or it went online anyway. My question is how do I erase my cloud game saves to force the game to start a new savegame? I believe the cause of the crash is the corrupted game save file but I have found it impossible to fix it or start a new one.

Three items that may help:
How to restart game, official FAQ: https://support.ubi.com/en-US/FAQ/9/4043/how-do-i-delete-my-save-file-in-assassins-creed-unity/kA030000000ej5QCAQ
Working with cloud / local saves, official FAQ: https://support.ubi.com/en-US/FAQ/60/3888/uplay-pc-cloud-save-system-information/kA030000000eeP9CAI
User developed instructions for managing ACU saves (use with caution and make backups, Ubisoft does not guarantee the effectiveness or safety of user developed solutions): http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/947651-For-Everyone-Trying-To-Start-A-New-Game-or-Have-Multiple-Saves-SOLUTION

Read all three carefully before choosing the course of action that is most likely to meet your needs. There's no backing out of most of the outcomes.

I find it baffling that instead of adding a "new game" option they make users find their saves and manually delete them.
