I was shot down by what appeared to be ACE AI 109s while escorting IL2s. So I watched the proceedings after I had bailed. The IL2s were being decimated, I saw 109 shells bouncing off the Sturmovik- and off the unprotected GUNNER! It looked bad, then I saw a funny `movement`. I looked close and saw this:

http://img12.photobucket.com/albums/v31/SeaFireLIV/il2_dead.jpg

The rear gunner dead and lying over the side. Wow! I played IL2 a lot and never seen that before! I`ve always kept High Gore on as default, btw.

I think if would be great if you could invert the aircraft and eject the dead gunner. Then the 109 fallowing behind you hits the dead gunner with his prop, splattering his canoy! The dudes innards would foul the carb intake and oil cooler causing your engine to die. Then when you crash land, they bring your aircraft back to base and pick the Ruskie out of your cylinders. After that, everyone on base gives you a hard time about "Watch out for falling Russians!".

Shot down by body-bomb. Lol. How humilating.

Along the same lines (I don't know why I'm contributing this... must be some inner morbid issues I have to deal with!) if you check out the latest edition of "World War II" magazine, there's an article about a Finnish pilot who flew Fokker DXXI's in the Winter War... and after dispatching an SB bomber, a Russian crewman was ejected by the explosion and became lodged on the barrel of his wing machine gun!! Yikes!! He had the grusome task of wagging his wings to get the body to free itself off!! War is indeed hell!!!

I was flying a 109-K4, coming up on an IL-2's six, maybe 150km faster than him, and just as I overshot, my starboard wing hit his port wing--ripping mine off, but not his.
