It seems that the Australians are to be featured in Pacific fighters - but no mention of New Zealand (yet)?

For a small country we also made a significant contribution to the Pacific conflict.

Our fighter pilots were valued to the point where the American bomber crews specifically asked for New Zealand fighters to escort them as they rated them more highly than their own fighter crews!

We flew P40s, Corsairs, Hudsons, Venturas, Avengers, Dauntlesses, C47s, and Catalinas - most of which are aircraft that are already featured in the plane list...

I hope the Kiwi's are in, I'd love to fly a KIWI corsair? I have seen them around but know of no KIWI carriers

I hope they leave NZ out - if only to see the Kiwis go off about Australia hogging the show again http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Just kidding of course - here's to the gallant Kiwis getting their propers.

I will supply the dates, details and data etc for RNZAF campaigns to be made for PF. However, it is not happening ATM as the one making the campaigns hasn't got the maps, NZ isn't in the programming as a side etc etc. There didn't seem much confidence that the RNZAF would be in the initial release, but if/when it is done it will be pretty good accuracy wise. Trouble is, the RNZAF was the world's worst record keeping a/f, and I can tell you from first-hand experience that getting the data for this is sh** of a job. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-mad.gif There are entire records missing....

Anyway, the final touches on the data already obtained are going in ATM, and it will be fired off to the PF team in due course, so if they don't do it, it won't be for lack of data I can tell you that! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

Destraex, from memory (RNZN isn't my strong point http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif ), the RNZN's biggest ships were RN Crusiers like Gambia, Leander, Achilles. The sure as hell never had carriers that is for certain, but the RNZAF did have pilots flying Corsairs with the FAA. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

heywooood, the Kiwi is an endangered flightless bird indigenous to NZ. Hence the old slang that "Kiwi's CAN fly" being used with regards the RNZAF. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Well - I knew Kiwi's couldn't sail... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/mockface.gif now your saying they can't fly either?...

What are these New Zealanders good for?...

Disclaimer....
Heywooods mockery should at no time be taken seriously by anyone (even Kiwi's)... no animals were harmed during this mockery.

They have two, the HMNZS North Island, and the HMNZS South Island. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

The Aussies must be getting worried about the Kiwis getting in... it will just be yet another arena for us to give the Aussies a good thrashing http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Have they tried an atlas?

Really?! Maybe they just aren't asking the right people?

Seriously though, as far as I am aware there are no real gaps in the record keeping. If there are any specifics that they haven't found I may be able to help.

Well I can tell you someone nicked the entire Dec 43 record of 14 Sqdn. 15 sqdn's records are a complete shambles, and most of them don't tell you anything outside of flying in the Islands. And they're the best ones. Some official records consist entirely of regalling the reader with tales of the leisure activities of the day!!!!

If you have info though, Private Topic me, and we'll have a chinwag about what you've got and we'll see if you've got something to add to what I've done/got for them. If so we'll add it to what I've done and you never know it must just help sell the "RNZAF get's in" campaign. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
