Hey, most of you guys know that by playing the Da Vinci dissapearance in AC Brotherhood, you get a set of coordinates that happen to be the location of the grand temple in AC3. According to google maps, bing maps and google earth, this place is a small lake that seems to dry during summer [at least that's what i gather from viewing older images of it on google earth]

Here's the link if you want to check it out:

https://www.google.com/maps/place/43%C2%B039'19.0%22N+75%C2%B027'42.0%22W/@43.6552778,-75.4616667,686m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x0

[Coordinates 43 39 19 N 75 27 42 W]

My question is: did anyone ever go there? Do you know someone who did? I'd like to know if there's anything at all there.

Also: [and this is quite a good easter egg] In that area of the New York state there is a city called Florence and a city called Rome. If you connect these cities and the given coordinates with a line, you get a Pythagorean Triangle (http://mathworld.wolfram.com/PythagoreanTriangle.html).

Very cool find. I want to see the actual location in 3D and not on a map. Still interesting though. I think we need an image of the lake in real life.

Itís a pretty interesting find. Thanks for sharing.

What I keep wondering about is whether these finds are actually pre-planned by the developers when they chose the location or just pure coincidence? There are just too many connections that us, the fans often find and I donít know if theyíre planned or just our interpretation and exploration.

This definitely seems like too much of a coincidence to be pure chance. Of course, it might be, but sometimes the devs enjoy throwing some really obscure, hard-to-find Easter eggs into the games. It's cool all the same. :)

I think it was definitely intentional. They found a Florence and a Rome near each other, then all they needed to do was pick a third point anywhere on the map to create the triangle and hey presto, they've got themselves an Easter Egg. That third point would also conveniently serve as the location for the Grand Temple. (That's why I presume it's just some boring river and not a cooler real-life location).

YES! Oh you know how to get my juices flowing. I just love the AC series for this type of stuff. I love real-life easter eggs in games. They so far from what I've seen have it in AC and they have something similar in BF4 with the Phantom Program.

This is a great find, and I just love researching stuff like this. I actually just played that mission a few days ago because I've been playing every AC from AC2 to AC4 until ACU comes out.. I'm currently in Revelations and I still have 2 games to go before ACU comes out. Can I do it?

ACR, AC3 and AC4 in 2 weeks? I could do it in 1 week, provided i don't really do anything else and get on a 15-hours-a-day marathon

Wow, Deja Vu... I guess many of you weren't here to have this same conversation back in early 2011.

That's pretty cool
I remember looking up the coordinates when the DLC was released, but didn't notice anything interesting, as I didn't have the knowledge of AC3 to go "Oh wow New York!!"
And by the time AC3 was out, I had forgotten...
