Jade Raymond, best known as a producer on Assassin's Creed and a number of other major games like Splinter Cell and Watch Dogs, has left the publisher after ten years, Ubisoft announced today.

Ubisoft's Alexandre Parizeau will take her old role as head of Ubisoft Toronto, which Raymond founded and has managed since 2009.

"I've spent 10 extraordinary years at Ubisoft, and I am proud to have been part of many of the best teams in the industry making truly remarkable games," Raymond said in a press release. "This is one of the hardest decisions of my career, but the Toronto studio is strong and on a solid path. I'm confident that now is a good time for me to transition leadership of the studio to Alex and to pursue my other ambitions and new opportunities. Stay tuned for more on what's next for me, but for now, I'd like to thank Ubisoft for its partnership through the years, and I wish them the very best in all their next endeavours."

Twitter: @AlexParizeau is the new #UbiTO Managing Director. Thanks for all you’ve done, @ibjade!

''They couldn't keep her, she was too hard to animate.''

I'm laughing harder than I should.

Good luck Jade. Since Patrice and Corey have also left Ubisoft/no longer work on AC, they should all team up again and create another kickass series.

At least she left on good terms.

Goodbye to a respected veteran, a little sad to see her go but wish her the best. Hope that if she works on another game it's great - good luck to her whatever she does. :)

Best of luck to her. I never really knew her nor have I ever known her successor, so I canít tell if this is good news or bad news. But letís hope for the best for her, for him and for the franchise.

Well, two or three days ago Patrice said he's working on a new game, today Jade announces she's leaving Ubisoft...

I know I sound like a pretentious Kotaku/Polygon hipster, but a game headed by those three free from corporate constraints has the potential to be amazing. Especially with a writer like Corey, AC had so many interesting ideas but they all got crammed together because of the yearly releases. While they're at it, steal Darby too!

And nick Jonathan Cooper from Naughty Dog. Oh and Neil Druckmann - the TLoU guy. My dev dream team, yes I'm aware that isn't how it works...

Since when did Corey leave Ubisoft? Last time I checked, he was the Director of Alice, which is Ubisoft's writing department.

This is sad. :(
I wonder why she left.
It is now clear that there was a miscommunication or disagreement

To be a Kotaku/Polygon hipster you need to somehow discover some sexist meaning and a secret rape analogy hidden in your own suggestion.

They should all join Platinum Games, those guys always make whatever they want, independently if it sells or not.
