Hi All,

As we all spend so much time in front of our rigs playing IL2, I was wondering what your desk was like!? Here is mine....

http://img48.photobucket.com/albums/v146/keithgilbert31/IL2%20Forums/Desk.jpg

P.S. Not being nosey!!

Not too sure how you post the picture on this screen!

Black is GOODhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif You'll have to do something about that case though (paint it black!).

How are you finding that Logitech stick, because mine has an execution date and it aint far off!

Let me guess, the fan is for when your flying the Fiat CR.42? a bit of realismhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I believe it is a Tamiya model (radio controlled!)

Yep I agree the case needs changing, just looking around for a new on (so many choices!) as for my joystick I've ahd for a year or so with no problems but thinking of going for an X45 (saving!)

Like this, mate:

My desk is over 100 years old, and has a nice wooden slider that I rest my arm on when flying. Sorry, no pic today.

You can type: . . .. url .. . . . and this will work. There is also a button that you can use when you are posting. Remember that the code is case sensitive . . . use lower case, not caps.

Cheers! I see that you are using a Logitech FFB stick. That was my first decent stick, and at the time, I really liked it. I was later to find out that they do not last as long as some of the others, but I really enjoyed it while I had it. I also notice that you took the pick while visiting the forum . . . thanks hippy. you don't need to be able to hear to enjoy these speakers. you would surely be able to feel the rumble in your chest. i remember, 10 or 15 years ago, my deaf grandpa sitting in my vw squareback listening to too short on my couple thousand watt boomin stereo. he was having a great time, nodding his head to the beat, doing the gangsta lean, wearing my gator Z sunglasses. then the wheel fell off. oops

I should have smiled a little for the picture amd it might have looked a little more friendly.

Yes, I do get them refinished if they need it. Local guy does a great job. Interestingly enough, I get the radios repaired by a former German fighter pilot Herman Weiber. He flew Me 109's all during the war and shot down a number of allied a/c including a Typhoon. I haven't een him for a couple of years and have always wanted to get his impression of FB.

I also have a small plane model of the BF 109 G-10. I actually bought them soon after getting Il2. Go figure. Btw, haven't been able to find any of the Russian planes yet.

Yes, the tablet is a wacom. Its an Intues 2, A4 sized landscape.

I just started collecting old radios as well.
This is my 1934 Gilfillan Bros. tube radio with short wave. I found it at a garage sale. All parts were intact including the bakelite plug. I had the electronics repaired and it got a new grill cloth and was refinished in the original color stain and laquer clear. Unfortunately they were not able to get the short wave to work but AM is clear as a bell. No schematics can be found for this old set.

Very nice radio Jagdgeschwader2. They are a lot of fun to collect aren't they? I have tried to collect every 10 years since the 1920's and very much like the German push button stereo radios of the late 50's. Great sound and still run on tubes.

They definately are fun to collect. For my next radio I want to find a cathedral or tombstone thats in good condition. The Gilfillan was in bad shape when I found it.I had it repaired by American Radio Revival. They did a good job at a fair price. I never new there were so many different brands of radios out there. Then again before television radio was king.

Very interesting configuration Burnin. You must have built it yourself. You have my vote for the best set-up (after mine of course) http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Glad you like it. I've posted pics of it many times. Go to http://777AVG.com/cockpit for more build pics. It certainly does the trick.

Thanks Burnin. I visited your website and am even more impressed than I was before. Your efforts are a true labour of love. I will remember to stay out of your way in Hyperlobby. I wouldn't stand a chance with the kind of commitment you have to this game.

OK ... you guys hooked me too.

Yup ... it's my wife's least favorite corner of the house!

Heck, I even made it out of my parents first headboard! My Dad bought a bedroom set in England at the end of the war as a wedding present (they were married in 48). It, the lamp and God only knows what else came back stored in the hold of his LST. He was going to throw it out 5 years ago and I thought ... OK ... I need a bigger gaming space ... it's nice and wide ... it is old ... it's from England ... and ... it is a totally sick tripped out reminder of how I got here! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/88.gif

Life is just a game ... only the resolution is much better!

Real nice set of Rickenbackers on the wall. Also nice to see someone else using real nearfield monitors for fronts. I run Logik's in the front Allison 4's in the rear. All my basses are used for making money so none hang on the wall at the moment. Highlights include a '68 Fender Jazz Bass and a 69 Les Paul Recording Bass.

I'm in Providence Rhode Island. The house was built in the 1920's and those floors are made of a hardwood, probably red oak.
