View Full Version : Review of all cards from Sins of Betrayal: Sanctuary

Time for sanctuary, an underdog who rose to the ranks through the honourable shoulders of yukiko

1)Typhoon- for 3 cost, it decreases attack of all enemy creatures by 2, so can be used as a finisher and noboru and mukao will be happy now as it is just temporary and really effective crippling in other words so cheap death would be a hit as well as other dark spells
2)Foreknowledge- good card but has other alternatives as well
3)Frozen Fists- a real good buff and good to see new mechanic where decks will contain less naga and would contain more spirits, good card indeed

1)Shalassas Temple- storm terrace for water creatures, good card
2)Toril of the Eternal Empress- A cheap and continous outmaneuvore, good board control card indeed

1)Fountain spirit- 2 resource 2/0/4 shooter which cannot be targeted, really good card, bye bye kabuki sentry
2)Dousing Kappa- a mini fire bolt against fire creatures, good stats, feels like water is soon going to counter fire, like light has dark ward
3)Shark Bodyguard- cool artwork, and cool ability. Now song of the lost wombo combo can be used with this creature, love this card,Opponent will think twice before moving
4) Greater Kirin- a huge strong spirit guy needed by sanctuary
5)Shogun- a creature *** mini geyser, really costly though with high requirements

Overall comment:

Sanctuary got really good cards and good new strategies, outmaneuver is back and now more deadly and spirit guys got a huge boost. The best thing is that the best sanctuary cards that will see play are all commons and uncommons. So sanctuary really got buffed. Must have for sanctuary fans, except honourbash dudes

I fail to see how Typhoon is a finisher (more like the exact opposite; a stall card) or how it's good with Cheap Death. (I mean, I see how it works with Cheap Death, but is using two cards to kill one creature good?) Just seems like a slightly different The Frozen Maze to me.

Foreknowledge is the Golden Horseshoe for non-Magic heroes, so quite good.

Shalassa's Temple is a fixed Storm Terrace. Storm Terrace gives Area Blast rather than Focused Blast (an oversight that has still not been corrected), meaning your melee creatures risk damaging themselves. Then again, Shalassa's Temple only works for Water creatures. It remains to be seen whether there is now a critical mass of Water creatures for this and Frozen Touch.

Toril of the Eternal Empress is neither a cheap nor a continuous Outmaneuvre. It's not cheap because you don't get a free 2/1/3 shooter, and it's not continuous because you first have to either move or lose the creature that's on it before you can use it again. Moving is a necessary evil at best.

Fountain Spirit is not Immune to Retaliation, so it's easily blanked. And generally I don't have a pressing need to target 2-drops anyway.

Shark Bodyguard is also noteworthy because it's a fairly beefy creature by Sanctuary standards. It better be, because its ability is only incidental.

Greater Kirin... basically Surging Titan for Sanctuary. Slightly weaker but easier on the Magic requirements. I'm not sure if that's enough for what is essentially just a big dumb thing.

wait....the 2/0/4 which canīt be targeted is a shoter??!! really?

btw itīs not "bye bye sentry", you can play both if you want, good 2 drops are always important. Look at winferno with breeder and succubus.

Fountain Spirit is not as good as Sentry. And typhoon definitely isn't a finisher!

Typhoon would be a powerful tool to get board control, sorry i wanted to mean that, ofcousrse its not a finisher

i give bigger size because looking at small writings feel like reading the comments rather than the original post
