I voted "yes" assuming that you meen that this would give us some new flyables, like the sweet, sweet JU 88 cockpit that's in the works.
If you meant that this add-on shold just sharpen up some of the old cockpits I would definately ‚¬īlook uncle Fritz square in the monocle and shout: "NEIN"

Hi Dmitri,
What I meant was an add-on that would provide highly enhanced cockpits for EXISTING planes.
After installing this add-on, the current planeset (or at least some of them) would have beautiful new cockpits.
Imagine if, say, your favorite plane is the Mig 3, then this imaginary add-on would provide a MiG3 cockpit as detailed and highly finished and weathered as the current Gladiator pit.
That is what I'm asking if people would be interested in- http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

double post; sorry!

the 109,s would be great

I tend to agree on this one. As a cockpit only sort of guy for some years now, the level of detail is very important to me, and some of the recent cockpits are very good. However the one shinning example has to be the Gladiator, and the forthcoming Typhoon/Tempest. I've only seen screenshots so far as AEP ain't around here till tomorrow, but to whoever built them a Snap Salute to you. Would I pay, Yes on a per Cockpit basis, or a nationality pack, and as a download only. None of this waiting around for three weeks. Boy thats another story!!

I voted NO but I do want more effort put into cockpits but not to re-do existing aircraft but to introduce NEW types.

I have special request, for more twin engine bombers to be modled; concentrate the effort there.

So, although this is a nice idea, I'd prefer to see some much needed bombers introduced.

I voted no. I don't think the gladiator is that far above all the other cockpits, plus I really think all other cockpits are done VERY well. I would rather see new cockpits than enhanced old ones. I wouldn't pay for it.

Me too. I rather see work put towards new cockpits.

I'd pay 50 bucks just for an Fw-189 pit (ok a Pe-2 would be nice also)

I'd pay 10 times the price of the sim for a new 190 cockpit...without the BAR

I'd pay full price for the interiors of just a couple of bombers.. Like a B17, B29, He177, and a Lancaster.. fully crewable etc.. would be AWESOME to multicrew something like a Lanc. at night..on Teamspeak..with an Uhu hunting you down http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

I voted no, if something like a high res cockpit project for existing AC is undertaken, it should be from the community, for the community, simply because the minor contend wouldn‚¬īt warrant a full fledged commercial addon. A reasonable solution would be to have skilled designers submitting their cockpits to 1C, who then would make them available via a free addon.

jtasker the game you want is in development it's called target for tonight check it out at www.nightbomber.com (http://www.nightbomber.com)

But it would be cool for some heavy bombers to make it into fb but i think it will not happen because of the amount of work required reqd for all the crew positions.

I would pay a reasonable amount, but the number of new pits would need to be more than eight. it would almost need to be all the planes that need it.

03-18-2004, 08:00 PM
I'd pay $50.00 for new 109 pits.

03-18-2004, 09:39 PM
I pondered this one and my answer is a qualified no. I would not pay to see corrections in current cockpits, but would like to see them in a patch.

03-19-2004, 11:35 AM
I probably wouldn't pay for an add on which merely improved the quality of the existing pits (unless it was under 15-20 USD). Now if it also added just a handful of new AI and flyable planes like the Tempest, B-25, Ki-61, or Spit IX, I'd pay 50.

How can anybody NOT consider the Gladiator pit a night-and-day improvement overe everything else in the game, as good as they are? My son, who is not a very serious flight simmer walked by and saw me in the Gladiator and thought it was an entirely new game. Even the little bars in front of the instument panel seem slightly blurry as if you're eyes are focused on the instruments behind them. THe Gladiator seems to be the least capable plane in the whole game, but I'll usually spend about 30 minutes a night in it just because it looks so great (both in AND out)

You have just stated exactly how I feel about the Gladiator cocpit.
Belongs in the Louvre (sp?)
The Museum in paris or whatever! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I love the 110 pit the most.I get for the first time in playing flightsims a feeling that Im really piloting.Awesome pit and would love all pits brought to its standard.

03-20-2004, 06:42 AM
I've got nice pits. Smell kinda funny sometimes though.

I wouldn't be willing to pay for existing cockpits since I dont like to fly with them on anyway. I'd rather have cockpits for new planes because cockpits for new planes means more flyable planes. Maybe when all the planes in the game are flyable I think this would be a viable idea however. If it were to come out as a "Graphics Upgrade" that was an improvement on everything that needs improving across the board I would most certainly be interested in paying for it. You'd either have to be silly or have a crap computer not to be interested in that.

its good for you
