I have been working on a campaign since at least the 1.11 build of IL2FB. Its up to 16 missions and 6 movies/tracks. I was working on editing some of the missions tonight, the first effort since installing the 1.22 patch. I discovered to my dismay that about 2 hours of work didnt save. Once I discovered this, I tried not just the save function, but also the save as function all to no effect. adding objects, changing the mission description, moving waypoints, all do not save. HELLLP! I need the save function back. This was a new install of the game with the patches. I havent even added my plane skins yet.

Are you sure you are saving to your new 1.22 folder?

You did save your old missons in another folder somewhere, right?

Also, never wait 2 hours before Saving. Save whenever you get exhausted and collapse, about 15 minutes of working in FMB. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

When you asked if I saved to the 1.22 folder, Im not sure I follow you. The files are coming from the same folder they are saved to normally, ie; C:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles\Missions\Campaign\DE\Jeffs_East_Front. Normally I do save to a second folder on a backup HDD, but not till Im done with what Im doing for the day. Ive never had a problem till now and Im wondering if it isnt associted somehow with the latest 1.22 patch.

And yes, I save constantly, almost everytime I add something or edit. Anyone else had this problem? I had heard on the General Discussion forum there was a problem with the FMB after the patch but dont know what it is specifically.

Just thinking maybe you installed The Patch over a copy of FB in a different folder. Thinking about it, when I went to edit an old 1.21 mission in WordPad I tried to save it in my new 1.22 folder before changing the folder I would normally open WordPad into my often used test mission, but it never got to the new 1.22 folder. Come to think, I don't know where it went. I had to change all my shortcut icons to various FB files from C:\FB to C:\FB2

Other than that self inflicted blip, no problems here, I am saving my missions with diabolical, indeed ruthless efficiency in FMB under The Patch.

I see you are dealing with a sub-folder of your own creation ~very~ deep within the mission folder. Maybe you probably just messing up the hideous folder tree. It may make life easier to change your FB folder to C:\FB instead of the vile silliness the CD installs to.

here ---> C:\FB\Missions\Camp\DE\EastFront

Now, life is simple. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Ok, here's what Ive found out. My mission files have all changed to "read only" in each files properties. Not sure why. They are supposed to be "archive". I went back and switched them to archive and now I can edit and save them fine. Not sure if the patch did this or if Nero burning ROM did. I used it to copy all my files to cd before I redid hdd. Once OS was reinstalled, I installed IL2FB with patches, then reloaded the campaign files.

Thanks for trying to help Luthor. But I think Ive got it narrowed down to either the patch or Nero. Of course it could be this blasted WinMe OS too...never seen anything so glitchy.

Glad you got your savings back.

Its not The Patch...at least not by itself maybe in comination with the stuff you (finally http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif ) mentioned.
