Just a reminder for those who are new to the "waiting for the game" game:

You can expect to hear lots of different ship dates over the next few weeks.

You will only know the "real" ship date when the game actually ships... no matter how confident your brother who works at Best Buy is.

However, at some point the game will "go gold", meaning the master CD has been shipped to manufacturing... at that point projected ship dates tend to become more accurate.

But there will still be many conflicting dates floating around, and expressions of shock and horror from anyone for whom any date passes without the disk being in their hot little hands.

And a note on preorders, whether from Ubi or a store: a preorder means that you ordered before the game was released, not that you will get it before it is in stores... no matter what you were told when you ordered.

OK, you may now carry on with the previously scheduled "ship date speculation stress" (SDSS). Just remember, if it gets too bad, there are drugs available http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hey, i took it like a man when i had my wisdom teeth pulled (all 3 of them, and one had to be broken to be taken out). All i had was one valume, and the regular jaw numbing drugs. After that i went home and rested.

Even when i had to have another tooth pulled, the doc was wondering if i should be knocked out for the pulling, all i said was numb the spot and pull it. I didnt even need the pain killers when i got home, since there was no pain when the local anistetic wore off.

So this says im ether out of my mind, or i have a high pain threshhold.

Hopefully we wont have to wait as long as POTS in Australia/NZ. That was over a week! Which is frankly just too long! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

I'm going to whine a little bit here. I bought URU Complete Chronicles as well as the downloadable version of POTS. (the downloadable one first of course). So I finally installed CC and wanted to play ALL THE WAY through URU from start to finish (y'know, to kill time until Myst IV 'n' stuff).

Things were going great until I reached Eder Gira. Seems there's some sound issues there (or an issue with my video card.. not really sure which), and I know that bug was present in one of the POTS ages (the watery one). I did the tech support thing, tried several drivers, several settings (and hey, I'm into computers, so I have a pretty good clue what to do already).

My resolve is that Prime was great, To D'ni worked fine.. I didn't have a single problem with URU until POTS.. and POTS left a bad tasted in my mouth about the series. After some thought, I realized that the only games I see any issues at all with my current PC are from UBISOFT!!! (ah, the plot thickens).

I wonder if UbiSoft is a wicked taskmaster of a publisher and they like to push titles out the door ASAP to please the crowds, and perhaps skipping a few steps, say in the 'testing' realm. I'm skeptical of games with release dates when the material hasn't gone gold yet. I remember there being a great outcry on the forums when Myst III came out and it didn't run perfectly on systems that should've been able to handle it. The theme that echoed over and over again on those forums was "we'd rather wait for the release and have you release something that works instead of getting it sooner and then having to wait for a patch to enjoy your product."

My point being, since so many are excited about Myst IV, I truly hope it's done when it's done.

Funny you should say that. My experience has been the same with EA products. Then again, I don't play that many Ubi games.

Is that the reason it's locking up? Eating the CD-ROM isn't conducive to gameplay? I didn't seen any warnings on the system requirements about that. You see.. Ubisoft is skipping steps again. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif
