Hi there! I hope the title and the forum are the proper ones for this kind of question/request of mine. I've just finished AC Revelations and I got curious about the ghost you see in the middle of Brotherhood (Ezio helping the people of Monteriggioni escape from the templars attack) and the beginning of Revelations (Altair's showing Ezio the way to Masyaf library), so I was wondering if anyone could tell me how those ghost were done, from a designers point of view of course. I'm very interested in replicating the same "style" for a project of mine and just need a little bit of help to fully understand the process the designers done with the game.

Thanks for your time :D

You 'd have more chances to get an answer if you posted your question to the console section of the forums.

I though it was more kind of a general question rather than specific to console or pc related, my bad!

http://www.opengl-tutorial.org/intermediate-tutorials/tutorial-10-transparency/

I think Ubi made special skins for each "ghost", mostly white with no details, then renders them off-screen fully opaque and blends in final scene with A<1. As you can see here http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2012/121/1/c/assassins_creed_brotherhood___ghost_by_hitwil-d4y8h39.jpg the model itself isnt actually transparent, only final result appears transparent on scene's background

Thanks for your reply! Do you think that effect could be achieved with a photograph or it has to be created all from scratch in order to simulate the effect ?

I think you can, but it will require some experience with photoshop
