So Today I've decided to go to a more light-hearted topic that might be fun to some of us.....what particular song do you think represents each Assassin's Character? Here's my list to start it off.
Altair: "Diary of Jane" or "I will not Bow"
I Will not Bow: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qrRzNidzIc&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Diary of Jane: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWaB4PXCwFU&feature=youtube_gdata_player

^ Both Songs really display Altair's struggle with life and the Creed as well as how he sees being an Assassin wasn't his choice.....more like it was fate.

Ezio: "Tonight" and "Next to Nothing"
Tonight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCzdecygpmg&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Next to Nothing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lESLPWgg_M&feature=youtube_gdata_player

^ "Tonight" really represents Ezio's happiness to be alive and his optimistic view of life after a personal tragedy. ( AC2/ ACB) "Next to Nothing" on the other hand, showcases Ezio's later life, and how he needs to settle down as he knows there's nothing else there next to him. ( ACR)

Connor: "World so Cold" and "Time of Dying"

World so Cold: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DQimvlEpjY&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Time of Dying: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9W598i7hGU&feature=youtube_gdata_player

^ "World so Cold" demonstrates Connor's personal life as he witnessed many losses, failures, and overall sadness as the 'many days' shows how much he misses those closes to him. ( I.e Ziio, Haytham, Kani ( his best friend), Achilles) And "Time of Dying" shows Connor's will to not give up and survive in the Harsh world he lives in as well to hope that things will get better eventually.
Edward: "Just like You" and "It's Not Over"
Just to like You: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04fQTmvFfGo&feature=youtube_gdata_player
It's Not Over: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQ92eyxnxmQ&feature=youtube_gdata_player

^ "Just like you" represents Edward's pirate life in how he defies Everything anyone tried to tell him until he reached Rock Bottom. "It's Not Over" shows Edward's quest for Redemption as it's Not too late to make himself a better man....and realize the meaning of the Creed.
Desmond: "In The End"

In the End: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yw1Tgj9-VU&feature=youtube_gdata_player
^ This Song represents how Desmond realizes his place in the world, and how little him and his Ancestors really matter as Juno gets released In the End.

Arno: "We are One"

We are One: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4UZhrnzoPM&feature=youtube_gdata_player

^ "We are One" represents a number of things for Arno. His Unity with Elise, French Revolution, and the Versions of Himself.....each showcase banding Together to make things work in the long run.

Can't think of anything for the other Characters.....but tell me what you think? You agree with my personal list? No? What song/ songs would you pick?

Feel free to Discuss......

Edward would be

AC/DC-Shoot to Thrill in the first half of the game for his attitude towards life.

And at the point where things start spiralling down towards the end it would be Creed-My Sacrifice.

Also Creed- My own prison durring his imprisonment/hallucination.

I really like the music that you have selected for each Assassin, it really suits their personality and the things they've experienced in their lives.

I especially like the track you picked out for Unity. :p

For some reason I have a Linkin Park song associated with each of the Assassins.
Altair - Numb (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXYiU_JCYtU) (more in a sense about his mentor relationship with Al-Mualim and how he wants to differ from his mentor)
Ezio - New Divide (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysSxxIqKNN0) (Ezio contemplating about what he has done in his life, what he has lost, and gained)
Connor - In The End (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVTXPUF4Oz4) (how Connor tried to bring peace, reconcile with his father, but in the end, well, he couldn't)
Edward - Somewhere I Belong (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsCD5XCu6CM) (Edward trying to find his place in life)

I LOVE breaking benjamin and three days grace!
I only have a song that fits Connor, although maybe a bit too brutal for him. Arch Enemy, war eternal.

edit. This song kinda fits Edward too, Megadeth Public enemy number 1

Thanks, Mate.

You're welcome

I think this track suits Connor. The main chorus really sums it up.

Most definitely.....especially the Chorus.

I kinda make my custom tribute videos, and I always put various songs together.

Especially Connor's......really hit the nail.

I also think this fits Edward:

I don't know which song fits each assassin. But every time a new assassin is introduced to the series, then I listen to this song:

Dunno about individually but Teardrop encompasses the entire order imo.

I would show the Altair based one but the original was either deleted or re-edited and IMO it just isn't the quality it was when I first saw it. Instead, here's Connor.

No Church In the Wild - Jay-Z and Kanye West. It doesn't really represent a specific Assassin per se, but it seems to sort of fit the plot of the games and the ideologies of the Assassins and Templars.

Human beings in a mob
What’s a mob to a king?
What’s a king to a god?
What’s a god to a non-believer?
Who don’t believe in anything?

We make it out alive
All right, all right
No church in the wild

The chorus totally fits AC. The mob -- first of all, AC and crowds is a no brainer, but it also often deals with revolts of some form. Rising up against the KING -- corrupt people in positions of power from nobles to knights to Popes. But what's a king to a god? Minerva, Juno -- TOWCB/First Civ -- the Assassin v Templar conflict doesn't interest them. In fact that was a big thing in AC3, the whole end of the world thing coming because the Assassins and Templars were always at one another's throat instead of trying to resolve the bigger threat. But what's a god to a non-believer? Typically the Assassins see through the lies of the church and the modern day Assassins especially know of Juno and Minerva and how they were the basis for the religions that would get their stories twisted.

Tears on the mausoleum floor
Blood stains the coliseum doors
Lies on the lips of a priest
Thanksgiving disguised as a feast

These lines too fit. Blood stains on the coliseum, priests (and other officials) lying to the general public, things such as thanksgiving being twisted and turned into something they weren't -- as is the way of the Templars, to rewrite history as they see fit.

To me, the first verse is from the POV of Assassins. Discussing the corruption of the Templars who play the role of priests, doctors, protectors, and leaders but lie to the public about their true agenda of controlling them completely.

Then we have the bridge sung in auto-tune:

I live by you, desire
I stand by you, walk through the fire
Your love is my scripture
Let me into your encryption

A very religious-sounding portion but the wording is interesting. Especially combined with the auto-tune. Encryption. "I live by you" -- "I stand by you" -- "let me into your ENCRYPTION"

Sounds very much like the Animus -- allowing one to live "by" someone or stand "by" them. To walk through the fires they endured. The encryption is, of course, the DNA sequencing connected with the Animus.

The second verse, conversely, sounds as though it could be sung from the POV of Templars.

Coke on her black skin made a stripe like a zebra
I call that jungle fever
You will not control the threesome
Just roll the weed up until I get me some

Indulging themselves in manners they normally preach against (remember the weird fetish sex party put on by the bishop in Brotherhood?) -- drugs, sex… the Templars often seem to deem things like this as unholy or wrong but privately do it amongst themselves.

We formed a new religion
No sins as long as there’s permission’
And deception is the only felony

And now this sounds as though they're mocking the Assassins. Likening them to a religious group despite criticizing the Templars for leading other religions. The "no sins as long as there's permission" is EERILY similar to the "everything is permitted" line in the Assasin's creed and could easily be a crack at them calling the Templars evil even though they, themselves, take lives for what THEY deem is just.

To me the song is and will always be an AC-related song as I just can't help but think of it that way.
