A simple question, I wondered when most of you guys stepped into the franchise. AC1 was my first ac game.

AC2 for me. I didn't know there was an overarching modern day story when I got it, so I bought the first AC shortly after.

I knew there was some guy in the present time relieving the memories of his ancestors - but I didn't know that then modern day sections had a story.
I just thought Desmond would use the Animus for fun xD

AC3 was my first AC game and I loved it. :D I was quite suprised, about the hate it received from the community back then. Not to mention the hate for Connor, since I liked him from the first moment. I played all the previous games after that (several times) but, AC3 is still my favorite. ^^

I remember watching/ playing bits of the First games, but it didn't interest me at the Time. I didn't know who Altair was yet, and I thought Ezio was meh, however the game to me that really brought me was AC3 followed by AC4. Seeing Connor go through those army of soldiers had sold me! So yeah, I eventually watched the other games....and am Plan on getting them soon.

I know "watching" isn't the same as "playing" but whatever.

I started the series in 2010! Brotherhood had just come out, but I'm the type of person I that doesn't like to just jump into the middle of the series. So I decided to place AC1 first!

I remember I loved it so much, I went through the next 2 so quickly and even pre-ordered Revelations for later that year. Urgh... I was so disappointed with the game until AC3. I honestly think it was an Ezio burn out. it was literally 3 games of him in on year for me. haha!

AC1, I first heard about if a little before it was released but sadly couldn't play it or AC2 until ACB was released because back then I had a laptop that couldn't handle them and I didn't own any console that AC was released to. Then I built my own PC and played them all, and it was glorious.

I was thinking of buying the PS3 for KH3 and FF versus 13, now XV but those never came, then I saw AC1 on a commercial, I knew I had to have it.

I did wait for the PS3 without backwards compatibility though.

I had been playing the Mass Effect and Batman Arkham series to utter exhaustion, and looking for something new. I kept seeing AC2 on the---of all places---Mac App Store; but Ezio's robes made me think it would be a fantasy setting, which I hate.

Then I finally decided to check out a YT video, found a Let's Play of AC2----within a few hours I had installed the even-more-badly-optimized Mac version over Steam; I'm a fan ever since.

AHH memories! I got AC 2 first and loved the crap out of it. I saw the first pic of AC 3 on game informer and new nothing of the franchise. also at the time I had just gotten my first Xbox 360 and was really into open world rpgs. I started to ask my friends about the game and for some reason I interpreted their explanation as an rpg game. I then went to GameStop and asked for the first AC. he looked at me for a moment and suggested hat I play AC 2 first because he thought the world was much better. I beat it and by the next month I was playing both the first AC and brotherhood. by the end of the year I was all caught up and stoked for AC 3!

The first game I technically played was AC2, but only for a bit at a friends house. Even so, I fell in love with it. I saw that ACB was releasing in mere months, and that was the first AC game I ever got my hands on. It holds the most sentimental value to me because I was so excited to play it and the fact it was my first. After beating that, I got AC2 so I could beat it for myself, then ACR and after that I finally got the original. Bought each one in order ever since and despite its flaws it remains my favourite video game series.

I loved GoW too.

Problem is I was relatively new to console gaming, my first proper console being a PS2 as I had been a PC/portable gamer up till then. So you know I expected games to come up on commercials BUT apparently when the 360 and PS3 came out the gaming industry decided that JRPG's and Horror games and all that cool stuff was no longer going to cut it and they hid it.

So I sat around with my PS3 after beating AC2 for several months wondering, where was my Kingdom Hearts? My good Final Fantasy? My Phantasy Star? My Drakengard? My Silent Hill that doesn't suck?

All gone because of a stupid decision made by idiotic old men who know **** all about gaming, sitting on their fat asses, giving orders, taking my money, munching on chocolate cakes in their offices and having fun times with their secretaries while their wife scrubs their large colonial house and their immigrant maid raises his children.

So I gave up on the PS3 not knowing that a simple random trip to game stop would have revealed to me plenty of games of those genres and most offensively at the end of the ps3's life cycle Drakengard 3, screw you Square Enix. Screw you.

I have to admit Here is my personal and real story with the AC franchise.

I bought the AC1 special and limited edition for XB360 back in 2007, and I started playing the game for stopping some 5 levels later for being annoyed by the repetitive tasks / missions and the silly running after some flags "thing" - In short, I was so disappointed by its content that I shelved the game for years. Keep the collector art book in my library and kept the little Altair figurine for my kids.

When AC2 came around, I was still thinking about the hype of the first one and I did not even want to hear about thinking that the sequel would be much inferior than the previous opus, which was not great and boring to me. Anyway as a rule, I don't buy the hype regarding games, but I trust friends that review games for a leaving.

However; not before mid 2010, convinced by a friend of mine that AC2 was worse a serious try, I finally tried AC2 on his PC and I honestly liked it -

Finally, months later in 2011, I then bought my own copy later for XBox 360 at the same time I bough brotherhood. It is only after finished AC2/ACB that I went back in playing AC1 and used my old previous XB360 save to continue the game up to the end. I am still thinking AC2 was much superior than AC1 even if I like Altair as the main character, and I am still thinking that AC1 was an over hyper game, and a lot of potential was wasted and ruined by the game-play and mission design. AC2 and ACB are really the two games that made me a fan of that franchise.

I enjoyed Dante's Inferno, I found the level design, bosses and stuff quite interesting :p

The level design was good, but the plot didn't get me interested or invested at all. I guess the thing that made me laugh the most was the hype in my country, people were saying that it was going to blow God of War out of the water. I'm still waiting to see that happen. :p

Anyways, I guess I'll leave it at that.... I don't want to further derail your thread.

I remember it like it was yesterday, because it kinda pretty much was a very short time ago.

I had been aware of the AC series for quite some time, I had probably seen AC1 and AC2's covers all the time in game stores but they never interested me. Just looking at Ezio's outfit I was thinking it was some kind of medieval fantasy game (A setting which I hate) so I never bothered.

But that all changed in 2012 when I was at the age of 14 probably (do the math if you want to know my current age), I had heard a couple of friends talk about a new AC coming out, set in the American Revolution, they were discussing what cities and characters would appear and such. This got my attention as I have always had an interest in history (primarily architectue), and a game set in the American Revolution seemed kind of new and refreshing to me.

I did not hear or care about it too much after that for a few months, then I think I saw one of the advertisments for AC3 while watching some Blip video. This started to get me interested as the gameplay had quite a strong resembalnce to a series I did (and still absolutely) adore, the Arkham series. So with cautious curiosity I bought AC3 on STEAM to check out what the fuzz was about.

At first I wasn't all to impressed, the story felt quite slow and confusing and the ship part with Haytham at the beginning was quite boring. But once I got to the end of the sequence and watched Haytham stare out over Boston while Lorne Balfe's masterful soundtrack played, while the title popped up i instantly had a feiling this was a series made for me, incorporating almost everything I love into one package.

As tiime went on bought the other AC games and got into the lore a good bit, so yeah that was my rather short fandom story told in a over dramaticaly long fashion for no real reason.

AC1 for me. I remember being a pledge and watching one of my fraternity brothers playing the game when it first came out. Th room filled up pretty quickly with both guys and girls to watch this game that we were all blown away about. The amount of freedom and detail was unheard of at the time.

Needless to say, I finally got back into gaming with my own console a year later (even though I had already played the game numerous of times on friends' devices) to have my own copy. AC2 seemed to have come out of no where since it had been a few years since AC1's release. This time around, when I got the game at release, everyone started watching me play causing them to get back into the series as well

Amazing how 60% of this forum started with ac1, didn't expect that. And only 23% ac2 I expected that even less. I wonder how much new people will join with next gen ac games. I can already imagine how tons of 14 year olds will join in the next 3 years. :p

were you trying to comfort me or make fun of me??

Neither of those. I wrote that without having read your post so didn't know you were 14.
I was 14 myself when I joined the forums, I wasn't trying to offend anyone so sorry if I did.

AC1, was 13 at the time, thought it was the best game ever, didn't mind that it was a bit repetitive, was the coolest thing i had after prince of persia, i remember thinking that if they made a sequel it would be about Altair travelling the world to collect pieces of eden, didn't even cross my mind that they could go to other time periods, guess i thought it was absurd for a person to have more than 1 ancestor that was that interesting

was immediately addicted
after AC1 i played
AC Altair's Chronicles
AC Bloodlines
ACII
ACII Discovery
AC Project Legacy
AC Brotherhood
AC Revelations
AC Multiplayer Rearmed
AC Recollection
ACIII Liberation
ACIII
ACIV Black Flag

For the main games i got the best editions there were when i could, only missed out on the AC1 Limited edition & ACIV Black Chest edition
The only game i haven't played is AC Pirates but that's only because my iPod Touch can't run it
Plan to get the Unity Guillotine edition and Rogue Collector's edition and play the hell out of them

The AC1 collector's edition had the Alta´r statue, but you can still buy this seperately if you want to.

If you find that cheap you let me know. I can't find the older Altair statue for under $600.

That's very expensive. It wasn't a big statue. Last time i saw it in my local gamestore it was €40,-.

€40??? The original Altair statues cost TONS of money, ebay sellers know it is rare and try to get as much money as possible out of it.

Tried AC2 didn't like it, then tried AC: B and loved it - stopped playing after I realized this was a sequel, and started on AC2 and ended up loving it.

So I voted AC2.

I have played them all since

I started with AC2 and played all the AC games since then up to AC4BF and including AC3 Liberation on both Vita and PS3.

I only played AC1 when it was bundled free on AC Brotherhood (I believe it was Brotherhood).

My first AC game was AC2. My PS3 broke back in 2010 so I had to get a new one, luckily a shop near me had a PS3 bundle with AC2 for a great price. Hadn't heard about the Assassin's Creed series before. I will never regret that purchase. I loved every bit of Assassin's Creed 2 and till this day it's still my favourite game of all time.

I've been a die hard fan since the beginning. Do you guys remember when the speculation for ac2 was? And the talk then was that it was going to be set during the French Revolution.

Been playing since AC but Ezio's segment was my favorite portions as far as best character goes I did like the more stealth and strategy back in AC though.

AC1 was my first AC game and it's still one of my favourites from the series. The way the story unfolded, the mystery that permeated it and the freeform movement through the cityscape was such an amazing gaming experience for me. When I finished it and used eagle vision I was blown away by how well done the game was, for me, it was the perfect mystery cliffhanger.
