View Full Version : What was your favorite setting?

So I thought that AC3 had the best setting not that the colonial cities were the best but the fact you could go to forests to the city. I liked the ability to lay traps and take out patrols and never even be seen, and then if I wanted to take on a bunch of redcoats I could go into the city and do just that. I never liked AC settings cause it was so linear, jump from building here to here, run down this alley way, it was all they same, I think they need to introduce a setting that allows players to wonder vast lands with small settlements and then huge cities, I just don't know the right time setting or location for this.

AC:3 is my favorite. It was alive, packed, and the gameplay changes with different locations.

I'd say the crusades for the story. I've always been very interested in that part of history.
Renaissance for the atmosphere. I sometimes still get goosebumps when walking around in AC's Florence and Venice.
Caribbean for the gameplay. A pirate's life for me!

I know the French Revolution will be my favorite, because that's one of my favorite historical events, but for ones that are out i'll go with the early Renaissance (AC2), It still had that cool medieval element but the music and colors gave the sense that a brighter age was on the horizon.

I honestly can't decide.

History wise????? Crusades.
Gameplay wise?????? The Caribbean.

Crusades (AC1), I'm still waiting for an AC game that'll beat the perfect atmosphere that setting had...

I would say the Crusades was my favourite. Then Renaissance (more-so Venice)

Firenze & Venezia

and Istanbul, since that's where I'm from. If only it incorporated a little more area, and had better sound design. The vegetation also was a bit odd at places; all those palm trees in the old city----they simply don't exist, and probably never did.

I honestly can't decide.

AC3 because Connor and Haytham.

Extremely tough choice between the Third Crusade/Holy Land and Renaissance Italy, both are thoroughly captivating.

how is nobody saying constantinople yet it won that setting popularity poll

I did a moment ago (kind of).

I think that was more just about the most fun city to fool around in.
Setting is about the period, location and events in history, atmosphere and story as well.

I enjoyed the Italian Renaissance in AC2. Constantinople, Holy Crusade and American Revolution all take second place for me.

that place with the stuff and the things

08-05-2014, 11:12 PM
I dno AC 1 felt so dark and tense, I loved the setting.

08-05-2014, 11:13 PM
Constantinople and the Caribbean for sure

IMO Constantinople was the best city, Renaissance Italy was the best setting. If that makes sense. But honestly, the Holy Land and the Caribbean were incredible as well. I wasn't a huge fan of AC3's setting, so it's partly for that reason I'm finding it difficult to get pumped for Rogue.

Everyone who said AC3 for the level design is a dirty sinner >;[

That said, ACR was the most fun to traverse due to design and by virtue of the location as well of course. Although I hated the irritating and constant gold filter or navy at night.

AC2 comes close but ACR just makes things better with faster climbing thanks to the hook blade.

Crusades. It's such an unusual setting for a game and I just loved how they captured the atmosphere and violence of the era.

I know the French Rev will be my favorite soon, but for now it's AC3 because of the Frontier.

I want hookblades to return so badly. It added so much depth to the parkour and combat. Give us China with hookblades and that will be my favorite setting.

Well I've only played 2 AC games so far but I will say considering American history is one of my favorite topics the setting for AC III definitely is what got me into the franchise. The Carribean was quite fun and very beautiful, I am looking forward to seeing what 18th century Paris has to offer.
