To Sentix,

Babydave has answered your first question or if you play single player mode in Multiplayer you have AL back-up including yourself of 9. However you can't place your weapon loadout for the AL except yourself.

On question two you must complete the missions in campaign mode first to unlock each mission for quick mission mode. Completing the campaigns you will also unlock the multiplayer maps to be used in SP mode. Completing all objectives including the X-objective you will unlock a specialist soldier for the next mission.

Sentix,
That is how it should be. I guess they figure everyone should have a freebie. Their is a mission for the castle map but it is a night mission. Good luck!

Day Castle is the map that was used for the Demo of the game. They have since included that map into GR.
