Hi everyone! I would like to know if it is possible to have control of the volumen in the AI airplanes because I don't hear them very much and my engine it is too loud. I have a Sound Blaster Live! 5.1. At the same time I remember long time a go the sound was much better than now and more control in the 3D sound. I think in real life you could hear the engines of others quite louder than now. Thanks.... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

In real you didnt' hear anything inside your plane except your own engine and the radio in your headphones

There are volume controls for overall sounds such as the general sound control, sound effect control, music control, etc.

The sound in AEP and 1.22 is modeled in accordance what actual WWII pilots could hear from inside their cockpits. The result...they can hear very little. having a 2000 horsepower engine just infront of you creates a deafening sound that blocks out all others. If the men had trouble hearing each other over a radio with headphones right in your ears then hearing another airplane at 500 meters or at 1 kilometer is going to be impossible.

Go driving with a car on the highway and try and listen for cars that are at roughly 1 km distance while you're accelerating and your cars engine is working hard. Its pretty much impossible even with extraordinarily good hearing. Magnify that sound by a whole bunch and you'll get the effect.

And frankly having control over distance sounds in FB creates a problem with cheating online. One guy can hear you at a KM away sneaking up on his six while another will never know he was there.

This is realistic and effective. Adapt to it.
