check out this screenshot of the latest subsim review .

there is an error in decks railing . the railing looks more like that of a type VIIC/41 or a type VIIA . also notice the flag guns armor plating . i never seen this on an early type VIIC/B . but considering its still in development i presume this will be fixed in the final version offcourse . just so you know !

I've tried repeatedly to see the pic, but all I get is:

DUE TO INCREASED HOSTING COSTS, THIS FEATURE WILL NOT
BE AVAILABLE UNTIL THE BEGINNING OF THE NEXT MONTH

the only thing which is wrong in the pic is that the railing is set in the wrong direction... it should be mirrored, then itll be right http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/51.gif

i guess flak gun amorplates are optional...

yeah this is what the railing should really look like

that' funny, they got the Bismarck's paint scheme backwards too....if it were mirrored it would be correct also.

i wonder why they keep turning things backwards all the time then.

The screenshot is correct, depending on the type represented.

Minor differences from boat to boat, and from builder to builder, were common place.

In the original Type VII and VIIB (1936-'39) had the aft conning tower fixed railings, which originaly was the placement of the aft 2cm flak C30, before it was moved to the upper aft conning casing.

@shan_hackett: i'm talking about the 8,8cm railing... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

in every version of the VII boats except VIIC/42 and VIIF (which had no deck gun) the 8,8 gun had a railing...so has the boat in the screen...

i mean the little railing which is at both sides of the tower down on the deck...

the boat on the screen also has a railing.. but its pointed in the wrong direction, as we already said.. that has nothing to do with differences from manufactures or boattypes...

if they would turn the railing it would be fixed...

here you can see a part of the railing..the little steeltriangle at the tower.. there should be a much longer railing which ends at the 8,8 to protect the crew from washing off the boat...

On this shot, the railing is correct! Because it's a VIIc with a later tower-design!
