It will be in the game, because the internal and external model is already finished /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif .

... and it *was* a part of the defence of Berlin and Berlin is on one of the maps.

I can't wait to watch them spontaneously combust on the tarmac. ;-)

I guess with the B-17 also in the add-on, Oleg must have decided to hand 'poor' Fritz every available jet to fight the Allied bombers over the Fazzerland, including the power-egg and the Salamander rucksack-jet http://forums.ubi.com/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

The Me 163 will be about as interesting as the Bi-1. It will be fun to fly for 2 or 3 flights and then you will see it is useless and fly something else. Should be a fun 2 or 3 flights though /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif .

At the start of WW2 the German army lacked experienced anti-aircraft gunners. The average gunner was so bad that the USSR decided to help them out. They did it by forcing some of their pilots to fly I-153 flak magnets. These planes were slow but very sturdy. This allowed German anti-aircraft gunners to get a large amount of target practice on a relatively small number of planes. Thanks to the Soviets help, by the end of the war the German anti-aircraft gunners were amoung the best in the world.

Sorry Falcon it was only used in defence against western allies strategic bombing (squads were stationed under known routes and were launched if a bomber stream happended to pass by; range was insufficient for anything else). But it mainly blew up - reckon Maj Death got it about right.

I'd rather have a flyable VVS twin engined bomber, pref. Pe2.

... therefore the 163 had a role in the defence of Berlin and Berlin IS a part of IL2FB. Good enough reason for me.

-shrug-

... and I understand that the 163 may have a similar fate as the Bi-1, but remember, the 163 *did* become operational, so we may see it in more missions and campaigns.

I am reading a facinating book by one of the pilots who flight tested the Komet and flew it operationally: Rocket Fighter by Mano Ziegler. For you youngsters its out of print, came out about 20 years ago. You may be able to get it at your local library. Amazing read! The thing was a deathtrap. It would blow up on the tarmak if any of the fuel combusted. I wonder if there will be a random generator for this effect! lol.

Check out this very informative site on the 163 before you make assumptions on its explosive nature http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I am not making "assumptions" about its explosive nature! Visited the sight. Mano Ziegler was part of the 163 program from early 1943 during testing at Bad Zwischenahn. Was good friends with Wolfgang Spate, who ran the flight test program and later commanded JG 400. I think it is safe to assume that the information is genuine.
