View Full Version : FAR CRY 4 - Climbing Mount Everest !

It's really a genius idea to make the open Word in a valey surrounded by mountains to limite the open world instead water.

We could be able to climb up to the top of Mount Everest but strong wind could push us back in the valey when peak is reached. ..! Wingsuit back down. ..for a super long...spectacular flight !

That would be super cool !

Mount Everest
X-trem challenge..!

We could be able to climb up to a plaforme. ..20 feet to the peak....stay there to see the view ( or jump down ) and an option could start an animation to let us see our self reach the peak. ..take a Selfy and then strong wind push us back down. ..for a spectacular wingsuit flight . . !

Do you think Ubisoft Will make this possible..?

As an enthusiastic climber, you are delighted when you receive the call to climb the most intimidating peak, the highest point on Earth, Mount Everest! But the team must plan ahead, as many have died climbing Everest and their bodies are still there. Or are they?

Many mysteries still surround this formidable mountain, including the Yeti and the missing body of Mallory. But whatever you do, make sure you take a camera in case you reach the top!

I don't care about Mt Everest I want Shangri-La and the Tsang-Po Gorge.

06-26-2014, 04:13 AM

Why not Shangri-La , the Tsang-Po Gorge.....and mount Everest. ;)

Many challenges and obstacles along the way to reach the peak... + secret huge caverns. ...the YETI..! And maybe also deep inside Everest. ..a secret place. ..!!! A secret paradis. ...the Shangri-La...!!!!!!!!

06-26-2014, 04:29 AM
Okay I have to admit I do want Yetis.

It's not that Mt. Everest wouldn't be cool it's just I don't think it's likely that they'll actually have THE mount everest in the game. Really tall mountains that are snowy? Hell yea, but Mt. Everest exactly? not really

06-26-2014, 04:43 AM

Look at this Far Cry 4 picture....IMO that could looks like Mount Everest..

Shangri-La secret passage could be hidden deap inside it. ..

06-26-2014, 10:57 AM
To avoid direct statistic comparaison....And since Kyrat is anyway a fictional area of the Himalaya. ...the huge montain in Far Cry 4 could be call something similar but differently than mount Everest. ... like mount Evrast or Avarast..Kyrast etc And still be refer as the top of the world... to fulfill our imagination...!

06-26-2014, 03:58 PM
Just a big *** rock. Nothing to see here, move along.

06-26-2014, 06:32 PM
Mount Everest...a big *** rock....wow. ..what a lack of imagination. I am glad you are not working for Ubisoft on Far Cry 4...!

06-26-2014, 07:08 PM
Well that's exactly what it is, just a big rock with snow on it.

06-26-2014, 07:39 PM
...but ... but ... it is there!

06-27-2014, 01:08 AM
Well that's exactly what it is, just a big rock with snow on it.

Wow. ...that's a very cool way to describe the environment in Far Cry 4...

Please tell us how you evaluate Far Cry 4 base on video trailers seen since E3. ...don't tell me .....it just look like another video game on a plastic DVD. ....

06-27-2014, 02:16 AM
a mountain is pretty much a big rock with jagged edges with snow on it.

06-27-2014, 12:51 PM
Go to this link it's a great thread that shows 15 Crazy Things You Can Do Only In Far Cry 4....like exploring big rocks with snow on it......lol

Everest and the Himalayas.

The Tibetan name for Mount Everest is Chomolungma or Qomolangma, which means "Saint Mother", and the Chinese transliteration is Zhūmlǎngmǎ Fēng , which refers to Earth Mother; the Chinese translation is Shngmǔ Fēng, which refers to Holy Mother. According to English accounts of the mid-19th century, the local name in Darjeeling for Mount Everest was Deodungha, or "Holy Mountain".

In 1865, the mountain was officially given its English name by the Royal Geographical Society after being proposed by Andrew Waugh, the British Surveyor General of India. Waugh chose to name the mountain after George Everest, first using the spelling Mont Everest, and then Mount Everest.

Maybe as a special feature to unlock or DLC...

06-27-2014, 04:03 PM
Yep, definitely big rocks with lots of snow..;)

06-27-2014, 04:09 PM
Mistados. ..your didn't talked about the ice covering the rock.....

06-27-2014, 05:33 PM
Meh, frozen water doesn't interest me. Big rocks with snow on them however..now that's worth writing home about..;)

07-01-2014, 02:51 AM

Grand Theft Auto 5 have Mount Chiliad but...
Far Cry 4 have Mount Everest..!

But no Aliens or sharks..:nonchalance:

But no Aliens or sharks..:nonchalance:

No aliens....who knows where the Yeti come from.....many secrets to discover at Everest....and i prefer elephnants than shark, at least we can ride them and use elephants as weapon...

07-01-2014, 04:44 PM
Riding sharks would have been better.

07-01-2014, 11:23 PM

Take a look at this spectacular montains background

07-02-2014, 03:50 AM
I just have one thing to say, and that is, Those mountains to me look like they could be the barrier of the map, so please, please don't get your hopes up too much about climbing those mountains.

07-02-2014, 05:12 AM
I just have one thing to say, and that is, Those mountains to me look like they could be the barrier of the map, so please, please don't get your hopes up too much about climbing those mountains.

Il don't want to go over the montains. ...Just climb them and most of all the big one almost. ....to the top...! After all. ..it is a sand box open Word video game. ....

07-02-2014, 11:21 AM
I just have one thing to say, and that is, Those mountains to me look like they could be the barrier of the map, so please, please don't get your hopes up too much about climbing those mountains.

Was thinking the exact same thing.

07-02-2014, 11:36 AM
That would really be a huge mistake to not use this great opportunity to add a really cool feature in FC4.

It would be easy to design the montains in such a way that only peeks of the montains wouldn't be accessible. In GTA and Far Cry 3 climbing and exploring the montains were really fun.

OK they are there to limite the world be not using those awesome environments is not smart....

07-02-2014, 11:47 AM
Well, if this is the case you can just chalk it up to another one of UBI's terrible design desicions.

07-02-2014, 12:11 PM

Ubisoft Will not make such a stupid decision....don't worry. ...they know what FC fans want and they proved it so far with all the new great features We saw on E3 trailer video. .... ;)

A Far Cry game is a open World sandbox video game....where we are free to explore almost where ever We want. ....Just like FC3

I am sure that we Will be able to climb those montains even the big one. ....but we Will be blocked to go to peeks to avoid us to go pass them and reach invisible walls or force to automaticly return and re-appear in the map.

07-02-2014, 01:33 PM
I wouldn't be surprised by anything from UBI..:nonchalance:

07-02-2014, 02:02 PM

If only overhang climbing is not possible in FC4. ..than it is easy to Block the passage to the peaks....at only +- 20 feet to the peaks.

When on the biggest mountain and flying down with the wingsuit, simple design could be made to the map to avoid flying over smaller side montains that limits the map....even strong Wind could be add to push us back in if to close to pass over smaller peaks while flying...etc

I would only suggest to add a cinematic to reach the last 20 feet to the biggest montain peak ( Everest ) or what ever fictional name Ubisoft want to call it. ..

07-02-2014, 07:23 PM

This awesome montain chain is a great idea to limit the world but not using all this territory for exploration would be a huge waste.

Many things could be hidden in the montains..specialy the big one..!

- Missing letters on dead bodies
- Treasures
- The Yeti monster
- Relics
- Secret Cavernes
- Climbing challenges
- easter eggs

The Exploration Zones

Cederic Decelle ( director of technology for Far Cry 4 ) in a interview for GT, clearly said at 1 minute 22 that We Will be able to reach montains' tops. ...! and he also talk about the exploration zones...!

Far Cry 4 – New Details Unveiled – Map Size

-The map size is relatively the same square footage of Far Cry 3′s rook island, however due to the mountainous regions, the map is far more dense than FC3.

Those montains seems to take alot of space in the map...i am worry that it could squeeze alot the exploration zones and decrease the playable map size area...

I hope Ubisoft deeply well exploited the mountainous regions with alot of caverns and climbable paths. ..

Too bad...it really look cool !

Far Cry 4 Map Is Same Size as Far Cry 3's, BUT....

According to game director Alex Hutchinson, Ubisoft elected to focus on building a world that felt more "alive" instead of just giving players more space to explore

My only worry is that if we read between the lines we can understand that the world will be SMALLER than FC3 because of all the mountain chains around the world map. A more denser and alive world is a great idea but not at the cost of losing exploration territory spaces.....

Anyone know if there will be alot of climbing paths and caverns in the montains..?

" DLC blood ruby Mission 1: Fight dangerous enemies in the ice caves of snow-capped mountains to retrieve a rare artifact "

Looks like We will be able to climb very high. ..!

Far Cry 4 director details new features, animals, AI actions & a need for oxygen

"The world is a lot more vertical, [which] gives us a lot more new gameplay opportunities," he continues. "It allows us to add new features like the gyrocopter, the grappling or climbing system."

"Then every time you move to a new location in Far Cry, you have a new ecosystem. We have a new set of animals that bring their own unique opportunities. We have eagles now, so [players] will be vulnerable to attacks from above. [The verticality] adds another dynamic to the way the open-world is seen."

These mountains are something that the team hasn't tackled before, and due to their commitment to a level of reality, players are going to have to make some preparations before scaling such heights.

"Later on when you start to get to the tops of those mountains, we start to play with the environment a little bit, we have lizards. Some places you even need to use oxygen to get to that altitude."

In the scenario....you will even once have to deal with a full-scale AVALANCHE..!

Exploration on montains' peaks. ..CONFIRMED. ..!

07-16-2014, 04:57 PM

Unfortunately he says, Mount Everest simply doesn't exist, instead of focusing on the real location, the team decided to create a highly influenced version of the environments found in Nepal.

"We have mountains that get up to Mount Everest’s altitudes. We don’t [have] a base camp in the game. We really didn't go for the touristy side of Nepal," Thompson admits.

Rather than focusing on creating an accurate representation of the world's most famous mountain and risking criticism for not being authentic, Ubisoft Montreal can focus on forging a breathtaking portrayal of the region itself.

That's perfectly ok for me.....i don't want the exact mount Everest Just a breath taking awesome and spectacular montain...what ever ubisoft wants to call it....

From what We seen so far. ....it looks absolutly awesome. ..! And very spectacular. ..!

07-16-2014, 07:54 PM
I'm wondering if there going to be snow fallin down in the mountains or it's just ice and snow.
Say it rains on the grass plains and when you went up to the mountains, rain will turn into snow. Would be cool I think. :)

07-16-2014, 10:31 PM
To the peak. ...

"[Players] will start off in the foothills, [they] will be more in the forest, and then as you progress more through the world, you’ll climb higher, higher and higher," Thompson tells us.

"On Far Cry 3 one of the things we failed at was providing really different environments like you were either on the beach, in the ocean, or in a jungle. So the Himalayas was cool because you can get that transition [more effectively]," Thompson says. "Nepal itself goes from sea level to the highest mountain in the world in a tiny, tiny country, so we have that gradual progression."

Comic-Con 2014: Far Cry 4 Contest Winner Will Play the Game on Everest

07-25-2014, 01:37 AM
I so wish i lived in america right now!!

07-25-2014, 09:05 PM
It will be interesting to see how this pans out because reading a little into Mt Everest the stats for attempted climbs and those who actually reach the summit are a big difference, What I am saying is this certainly won't be easy for anyone no matter how fit - things like altitude sickness are a factor so I am thinking is this more of a catch.

Is this something where the person can get to a base camp or further and at any point where things might get really difficult will they be flown to the summit or is the sole intention to climb to the top ?
The cost for something like this can start at around 20'000 pounds upwards - This is possibly the most generous package I have been aware of for a video game.

Excellent advertising - I hope whoever wins is really outgoing and into a challenge

Good Luck

07-26-2014, 06:41 AM
When they say play fc3 on everest they dont mean the peak they mean at the lowest point on the mountain. in other words you spend a few days to a week at base camp for acclimatization, and then go to a safe low point and play the game. lol the average unfit gamer would feel sick and have pounding headaches just being at basecamp for a few hours. i keep very fit myself i go mountain biking and i workout, but fitness in gamers is not common, how many of you on here are in good shape. can most gamers even walk 5 miles lol.

07-26-2014, 04:14 PM
Im sure he didn't mean it that way Champ, but it is a bit on the edge.

Fitness is not just running around or going to a gym, the mental aspect plays a big roll in there, especially for something like this.

Many people ask this question: what does it feel to climb that Mount Everest (http://www.everestian.com/mt-everest-en.html)? Why do people pay that much money and experience this challenge to spend just a couple of moments on top of the world? Honestly, this question is very personal and highly depends on the person. But almost everyone, who has experience of climbing this mountain, admits that this feeling cannot be compared with anything else in the world.

I know I am late to the party, but I just want to say that I too would love to see this expansion get made.

Climbing Mount Everest would be the most epic expansion ever for a game like this!!! Activities include: Death skiing, wing jumping all the way back down, and fighting off giant Snow Tigers!
