View Full Version : Arno Progression Art (W.I.P) (Fanart)

This is currently a work-in-progress.
I have some progression shots of the art, so I've added them below in case you are curious. The finished piece will shared here, as well. If there's an issue with me posting too many images or something, just let me know. ^o^ Or if I can't post WIPs... well just let me know, too.

Also, are we allowed to stream (as in, stream art!) here? I checked the Forum Rules in the Ubi forum, but didn't see anything. Perhaps I didn't do a very good job of looking, haha.
I'd also like suggestions as to what I should do for the background... I generally paint a lot of nature scenes, so buildings might be a struggle. The game takes place in Paris, though, so I'm at a loss as to what to do!

SKETCH: (really rough sketch haha, trying to find a good background to stick with but I end up erasing that one)

COLOR 1: (blocking in/some brief shading)

COLOR 2: (progressing more on shading and some small details)

I just fixed his face/added some more detail there (not pictured in the one above)... looking to fix that one side of him that seems off.

I wish I could paint half as well as you do. I'm not sure what background could fit. Maybe the gardens of Luxembourg Palace set ablaze? I guess that's the closest to Parisian nature. :p

French garden (18-19th century):

When you say "stream art", are you referring to something similar to twitch.tv?

Thank you!
The French gardens are perfect!

And I'm more referring to something along the lines of join.me, as my computer can handle that.

Here's an update! I went a little further with the "French gardens idea" and decided to add and modify the Medici Fountain to my background! I love painting the water... everything else... not so much..
I still have a long way to go with this. :S I've been having to switch between two programs to deal with the foliage and some of the textures, so a lot of the background is still unfinished. I need to finish coloring Arno and add more details to him .
