View Full Version : Assassin's Creed: Unity - E3 Gameplay and Discussion

06-09-2014, 12:23 PM

With E3 only a few hours away now, and in order to forestall multiple threads on the topic, this will be the place to discuss all AC Unity related content coming out of E3. Should Comet and/or Co-Op be confirmed, I'll create threads for them as well.

EDIT: Co-op confirmed - threads here:

Console (http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/889829-AC-Unity-Co-Op-Discussion-and-Friend-Recruitment-Thread)

PC (http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/889830-AC-Unity-Co-Op-Discussion-and-Friend-Recruitment-Thread)

Once Ubisoft's Media Briefing begins, I'll open this up for conversation. All Non-AC discussion, after that point, can continue here:

Official E3 2014 Thread [Use for all E3 talk!] (http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/888336-Official-E3-2014-Thread-Use-for-all-E3-talk!)

EDIT: Way to catch us out Ubi! Opening now...

EDIT: Ooh, lookie here!

Just wanted to tell the team, LOVED IT! Looking forward too it! It really took me personally by surprise ;)

We are looking forward to it too :)

Random observation; I think Arno looks a little like Jean Dujardin in the cinematic trailer. And I'm surprised his name isn't spelled Arnaud

I want to know if the Co-Op feature is required for one to finish the single-player campaign, or it can be done without it.
Anyone knows?

The implication is that they are optional side missions - think SC:Blacklist.

There should add a way to find randoms.

The new Stealth system kinda look like from Watch Dog.

I haven't played SC:Blacklist so I wouldn't know how it works. BUT if it is optional for some side missions, then I'd be happy.
So far, AC:Unity seems to take the game back to its roots. I like the increased realism in reproducing the historical era and the Parisian architecture.

In any case, I think I will wait a bit longer for things to clear up about the co-op feature, and then decide if I should go on Waiting Mode.

Oh my, I hope I can at least dream about playing the demos if they won't let us at the lounge.

i think its great and hilarious that the french have british accents :D

I'm just curious as to why if you order the special edition on the physical version you get 'The Chemical Revolution, The Prussian pack, the Musketeer pack, and the shooter pack' plus access to unite, but if you opt for the download version you are only given the 'The Chemical Revolution' and the 'Royal Arsenal Pack' both for the same price. Surely they should be the same regardless of format (PC) ?

The more I read about AC:Unity the more excited I become - last time I recall myself being excited was the pre-release time of AC:Revelations

However, I have found a very good reason not to hold my breath [just yet]: the writer of the story remains still unknown. Anyone has read/heard anything about it?

@Ferrith Travis Stout is the lead writer for Unity.

He was associated with Fallout New Vegas, Neverwinter Nights 2 and Alpha Protocol. But not sure what was his level of involvement in those projects.

The Fallout wiki said he was connected to Raul Taeja's dialogue, and the script for two FO:NV dlcs.

Damn! I had hoped AC:Unity might marked the comeback of Jeffrey Yohalem; as long as it is not Darby McKermitt I am content though.

Any link about AC:Unity's writers?
Many thanks for the info, Ureh.

Never mind. I find the thread here: http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/890237-Lead-writer-for-AC-Unity-is-Travis-Stout

All of those games have sub-par story. FNV and its DLCs were just exceptionally boring cliche fest, with villains worthy of power rangers.

06-17-2014, 05:41 PM
To be honest I haven't played any of those games, except NWN 2 [and NWN 2's main writer was Chris Avellone], so I don't really know this guy's writing style. Considering I found AC IV tremendously boring -never finished the SP story, neither did I feel the need to- I doubt AC:Unity, dealing with such an interesting historical period, can reproduce the same boredom. I mean, one must be completely idiot to spoil such a wonderful setting.

Cant wait.

I don't know if Ubisoft devs watch this forum, but they should really watch this video:

I pre-ordered AC unity a few days ago, and I'd like to play the spin-to-win, but it requires a pre-order code to claim the prize. I didn't receive a pre-order code, though I do have a pay-pal receipt for it. Where do I get/find the pre-order code?

07-12-2014, 12:38 AM
Hello and welcome to the Forums :)

You'll need to contact Support with a proof of purchase.

To obtain a pre-order code from a participating retailer that does not provide a code on the receipt visit https://support.ubi.com/en-us for customer service to upload a copy or picture (details of the receipt must be legible) of your pre-order receipt and a pre-order code will be sent to your e-mail within 7 calendar days. Limit one (1) registration per person.
