View Full Version : The Ranking system and Road 2 Paris Note from the Developers

With our third annual tournament series about to begin, we want to clarify a few things about the updated Ranking system that we implemented on April 9th. The current Champion Points system is being criticized because players that compete in high amounts of duels are more likely to top the Leaderboard than skilled players who do not play as much. Since we want the Road to Paris to reward skill instead of grinding, we will be tweaking the Ranking system:

For the first month of competition (May), everything stays as it is. The Ranking system won’t change and registered players will be seeded in the Bronze, Silver and Gold cups based on their Leaderboard position on May 9.

On May 10, the Leaderboard will be reset and the current Ranking system will be slightly altered in a way that it’s less influenced by the number of played duels. Instead, ranking will be more influenced by the raw skill of a player.

Should this adjustment to the system work as intended, it will be kept for the rest of the competitive season. If we feel that the system could still be adjusted for improvement, a new revision could come at some point and would be announced ahead of time.
The important thing to understand is that the current system is not “broken” as many say due to the way Road to Paris works. Each of the eight monthly tournaments of the Road to Paris will be a showcase of top tier Duel of Champions players. Although it’s not ideal to bend the rules so close to the event, we believe that there is always room for improvement.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and enjoy the Road to Paris,
