I think this format would be useful for the devs, maybe we could give them feedback consolidated by topic like this.

HoN - the new cards
My first impression is very positive. Seems fun, opens a lot of possibilities for deckbuilding, and not (too much) power creep. One of the best expansions so far, if not the best.

Open / Standard / Weekly formats
I like having 3 formats very much. But the standard format is a bit boring, the card pool is not deep enough. With 6 factions and spell schools restricting deck buildign a lot you need more cards for an interesting format.

New client
As a software engineer I want to give some props to the unsung heroes who optimized it, it's much more efficient now. We only hear about it when it crashes, so let's give them a bit of love for once :-)

New UI
Big improvement. Still not perfect though. Most important thing to fix IMO: stacking cards in the deckbuilder and altar of wishes - they shouldn't appear 4 times for BS1/BS2/premium/normal.

Business model
Already made a post about it. TLDR: seals are already a good enough deal to motivate people to buy them, no need to prevent people to buy the latest cards for gold. This is not LOL.

Agreed. I like almost everything they have done in this new MMDOC 2.0. I like having standard (haven't tried weekly) and open, as I was getting tired of playing the same decks in open. The software upgrade is very noticeable too. And I'm a paying customer, so I don't find it a problem that paying customers get the new things first, as it happens in many F2P games. Free players will get them later, they can play now to get a lot of gold for HoN.

Daily quests are really interesting, but, as pointed in the general forum, they should be cancellable, as some of them can be very hard or impossible to make.

Nicely written and analyzed but I am afraid the only part I can fully agree with is the part about software improvement and new UI.

I am not a big fan of the waves of Seria, Arianna and the occasional Takana in standard. Deleb and Sveltana are used by those who have them. I always disliked annoying stall decks with a passion but back then (or still is in the open) gameplay was far more varied and fair between the factions that kept things interesting.

HoN has little to no power creep. The new tribes system opens up a lot of new possibilities and also gives good flavor for us casual players. There are a lot of new, creative and interesting effects in the set. However it still has it's fair share of apparently unusable cards like the Blood Ring or overly specialised hard counters like Fissure. Not to mention the filler cards like Loyal Hound. So far I haven't seen anyone effectively using any of the new heroes other than Deleb and Sveltana. I would conclude I don't see them cause not many have them but then I notice Sveltana has already become almost overused.

Excuse me if this post seems like a rant. Overall I have quite enjoyed the game since BS2 and have been playing it like crazy. I just felt inclined to point out a few issues.

As a very new player, I will refrain from compairing to what I don't really know about, however:

I generally like the new UI, but one thing that REALLY irks me is that it's much harder to actually click a card - whether on the field or in your hand or picking from library/graveyard.

Seems like you have to hit the card right in the center (or much more in the center than before), in order to actually click it.

This also goes for the tool tips when hovering. Perhaps 25% of the time, I have to re-hover on a card to get the info displayed in the lower middle of the screen.

Both of these defects means that us new players are at a clear disadvantage, since we need more time to orientate ourselves.

I see it this way:

HoN - the new cards
There are only a few cards to be added to good decks. Many cards are crap but needed for tribal decks, but that doesn't make them a good card. For me its better than 5 Towers, but that's it.

Open / Standard / Weekly formats
Don't know yet, but it's good to be able to play whatever you want.

New client
Not for me... I have the same disconnects as before and someone lost two out of three games yesterday at swiss, without seeing the battlefield once. I crashed two times when I won a match in the campaign and had to replay it, as it didn't count.

New UI
I agree, even though I find it very complicated and cluttered. Thousand of clicks to go somewhere and many "hidden" options you need to open first. Also, it would be much better to see the format of tournaments immediately, not after two clicks.

Business model
Well, there should still be seals for each level up. It's not like this would kill the game, as it would take 15 levels to get a box and that takes some time. I don't mind that they changed the outcome of every 25 levels, but come on, no seals at all is not needed by any means.

The good things are the new filters, campaigns and formats aswell as the daily quest (now THAT's great!). I'm sure there are a couple more small things that have been improved, that I can't remember at this moment.

Ya, I was expecting to get new quest every day, I finished 2, and couldn't complete the Tier 3 daily quest, and now I see that's it's still there. Wonder how many tickets I will need to burn through before I manage to Win a swiss tournament.

I think the daily quests not refreshing after a day really is an issue.

Ive got 2 quests as of right now that are related to either winning a tournament or winning a certain set of matches in a tournament.

I currently do not have the deck to do well in swiss or jackpot tournaments so thats effectively 2/3 daily quest slots locked for the next few weeks, which sucks.

I do not like current system, but IMO it would be too much. I would rather like to have possibility to reject one quest every day (or at the very leasr every week), or if they will reset at the end of week (together with weekly award perhaps?)

Ya I see where your coming from, when I started this game, I stayed away from tournaments all together, until I had a enough good cards to compete. Hopefully the devs will listen and make a change.
