OK. Planes of Fame in Chino California are having there annual airshow. This is a MUST for ANY WWII aircraft fan. Last year they had a MASSIVE formation of about 30 warbirds flying at one time to end the day. Some of the birds included F4U, Spit IX, B-17, 5 B-25's, and many many many many more. Simply unforgettable!

It is May 15-16th and I plan on being there the 15th (Saturday). You can find more info here.

If you want, we can arrange a group get-togeather at some point in the day and chat! Last time I was at Chino I met with Targert and a few other guys and had a great time just shooting the breese with other IL2 fans.

Also, there is a SLIGHT possibility that Oleg and Luthier will be there. E3 is during that week and I know the both of them will be in LA, and last year they visited Chino. This year Chino is having an airshow. It may be to much for those two to resist http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

So who all is with me? Who is going to be visiting Chino and who wants to get-togeather?

My post's are my asumptions only, and in no way linked to fact. I am not an official 1C, Ubi, or Russian Red Rocket spokesman.

"Most P-39's were sent to the Russians - so I guess that was an American secret weapon against our Russian allies."

Stan Wood, P-38 pilot who also flew the P-39.

I'll be there in spirit Bro. 3000 miles is a little far to justify, but I'd love to be there.

Don't forget....PICTURES!!!

I took my son there last year. It was awesome. The pictures posted by Gibbage last year were great. I might go again this year, probably to the Sunday show.

I'm interested

I live in Orange and I love going to Chino... In fact I torture my daughter all the time by going to airshows. ; )

In fact just to let you know there is a large airshow this weekend 24-25 at March Airforce Base CA. The Thunderbirds will be there as well as the usual airshow performers. In fact I got to meet Sean D. Tucker and talk with him for a while at an Oracle Conference a few months back. Super nice guy (Oracle is his sponser)and he will be there performing the sick and amazing acrobatic stuff that he does.

I'm glad to see there are other CA people interested in IL2FB... The best damed WWII sim ever...

If you go saturday I'll introduce you to a former Flying Tiger.. A C-46 pilot that flew supplies over"the Hump"in Burma for the Flying Tigers...

We will probably be near the C-46 from Chino that is always here for the show.

We keep trying to get them to let him taxi it around for awhile.. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I'll be there, with my two sons, on the 15th, so where's the Il-2 FB booth going to be? Sounds like a wonderful opportunity to proselytize (i.e., rope in some n00bs).

cheers

Cool. Seems we got a lot of local Chino fans! I cant wait to go myself.

Also, a B-24 and B-17 will be flying into John Wayne airport this weekend and I will be visiting it. Anyone else going to that?
