OMG
I really hate the AI sonar they have on their six. These days I put FR in QMB to start practicing my eyesight. No icons, I figured: Oh well, let's try that hint I saw in that german adapted pilot training book, let the plane fil 1 1/2 my revi and shoot only with the 20mm(G2). I put on average to train my eyesight and this new tactic. I get really p!ssed as when I'm almost in the perfect distance(50m or so) the AI plane ALWAYS evade, no matter if he is alone in the air...
In veteran I'm obligated to fire at 300m because the AI will evade if I get any closer. In Ace, 400 or 500 meters, not sure.
Resuming: Is there any way to disable their sonar? A way that do not involve the "rookie" difficulty /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif nor any intensive whining /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I know what you mean. I can't get a veteran. I get on his 6 and he flies like a UFO. I usually black out, he gets on my 6 and kills me. I usually fly a 109, and now one burst and Im history. I can usually kill the Avg. setting pretty easy. I guess the solution is Practice, practice and more practice.

Hey FiNaZZi, what you need is some more patience better deflection shooting and some understading of how to use the gun sight. In other words, you need practice kiddo! So relax and just do it. I have successfully dogfighted all the FB planes with the FW-109 A-5 (my favorite plane) in the "ACE" difficulty except for the 1944 Lagg Aircrafts ( I gotta tell you, the 1944 Lagg variants under the hands of an expert is one bad mother).

Take nothing for granted, that way
you live life at its fullest.

I know the feeling, sneaking up behind an enemy formation, well below them out of sight, has my convergence set to 150m and slowly catching up, then suddently at 300m (almost every time at 300) the rear aircraft breaks, okay, no problem I'll take the next in the formation cause the rest didn't brake, same thing happens at 300 the next breaks and so forth...

I don't mind the enemy evading, but it seems unfair that I can't engage them from a blind angle and they still know I'm there eventhough they nor other enemy aircrafts should be able to se my aircraft.

And it seems more strange that a formation breaks one aircraft at a time depending on my distance to the individual aircraft.

We need the following:
Aircraft only break when fired upon or they (or squadmates) spot an incomming aircraft.

The entire formation break when engaged, not one at a time.

You didn't understand the meaning of my post. What I am saying is that no matter from what angle you come, no matter if the aircraft is alone in the myst, under NO circumstances you can sneak up on them, because they are programmed to break when you close up on a certain distance. If I come from a low six and the plane is alone, there is no way he can know i'm there, but anyway the AI evades when you get 300m close to them. This is very frustrating, because you set up your attack, come from a perfect angle, and the plane breaks with no reason. NP is it is ia a big battle, and another pilot warns the attacekd one, but when you are gong against a single engined fighter, he is the last of his formation, no soul can warn him, and he breaks away /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif .
