View Full Version : The Original Marathon

Back when Trials HD was in its beginnings... The Marathon achievement was considered "impossible" and unfair for achievement hunters. After a few months, Redlynx made the tournament and the achievement MUCH easier, excluding all hard rated tracks that were in it and replacing them with more easy and mediums. The 50ish of us got an amazingly cool shirt for completing the marathon before the change went into effect.

The reason I bring this up in the Evo forums section is because things are much different now. A lot of people are now seasoned to the way the bikes control in Trials and a challenge like the Original Marathon would be accepted by many more people. I bet a lot of people would get it on launch day.

I am curious about what the "ultimate" challenge in EVO will be. Is there going to be an achievement that puts the Marathon to shame? Is Redlynx going to take into account that now people have 2 years of practice and at least one achievement should be a true feat, even for veterans?

The redlynx guys may or may not answer... but we can discuss! I wanna see an achievemnt for all platinums on everything....

Well the devs have said the platinums are much togher, and with top riders such as pahaperti as game tester I imagine the platinum times will be tougher.

It would be nice if this extremely tough extreme track they keep mentioning takes people 3 or so days to 0 fault, but I imagine we will have at least 100 people zero fauling it within a day or two.

They should definitely do it. I lost my shirt, I want another... JK

there are vids of the achivements for evo, im looking forward to the "find all of the hidden fluffy balls of fun one" (squrals ^^). im also very happy to see the full throttle one and the no shift one making a return, for got the achi names but you know the ones im sure, they were the funest.
those are the only ones i remember from the vid.

I hope there is one really hard achievement that will separate the noobs from the good riders.

Why would you want that, then you wouldn't get it..

I'm a boss at the no posture, love doing it on some of the mediums and hards.

I missed out before it got patched but i did it twice offline just for fun so hopefully if there is one in Evo itll be a little bit harder (complete every track in a row without faulting) or somethin like that. http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I've done that once in HD. From the beginner tutorial to Blast from the Past, no faults. Then started the tournaments and faulted on The Big Ride in Backyard Cup, lol.

SPOILER WARNING.

I'm assuming that the "Going the Distance" achievement (completing the Top of the World tourney with zero faults) may be a tough one to get, but I doubt there'll be one that compares to the original Marathon achievement.

But we can still hope! http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif C'mon Redlynx, dont wimp out on this one. Throw a few extreme tracks into that tournament that Les spoke of.

Should've been an achievement in the DLC to 0 fault midnight club. That would've been an accomplishment with no absolutely no comparison.
