View Full Version : How long did it take for you to get 100%

How many hours did it take for you to get 100% in Story mode? I cleared this game a month ago and my time was about 17 hours. Most clear times Iīve heard vary between 15-17 hours. Hardest track for me was the first "escort" mission. That guy fell off my car all the time.

It felt so awesome to drive the mighty Skullasaurus for the first time. Just too great.

Starting from tomorrow Iīll be spending all my gaming time with Mario 3D Land and Zelda SS (canīt play all day, thereīs something called work and studies http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif ). Itīs been fun to play online against you guys. My rankings been getting lower during the last few weeks so now Iīm giving up. Congrats to Wolfgang for being number 1 for such a long time and thanks to Redlynx for making this great game. Iīll be back later when DLC gets released.

Hey man it was fun having you as a competitor. I cleared the game around 16 hours or so. It was fun. I understand the time thing, I have 2 jobs, 2 kids and a wife. I usually get all my races in about an hour when everyone goes to bed. But with the races being the same all the time I think I may hang it up soon. There are too many good games out now. Good luck man

Havenīt played this for a while (still waiting for DLC) but my younger brother got 100% today with a time of 13 hours and 20 minutes. He called me "17-hour man" for having such a bad 100% clear time. http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif

I gotta admit, I said I was prolly gonna hang it up but I still haven't. Its just easy now since they are the same races. I just get on and play the 4 races within a half hour and then I am done. I am ranked 2nd overall behind the beast WOLFGANG. Its fun now that there is a little more competition. Hopefully DLC will make an appearance soon.

Thanks to my XBox getting the Red Ring Of Death I started experiencing some RedLynx withdrawal symptoms... so I finally gave in and got MotoHeroz!

I had been meaning to get it ever since it was released anyway... I just never felt like playing anything but Trials when my XBox was functional. http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif

I got it less than a week ago, and I already finished it. Good times. http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

A few things to note:

I took what was probably a very inefficient approach when going for 100%. I assumed that I would unlock more vehicles as I progressed through the game, and I assumed that I would need some faster/better vehicles to get most of the gold medals. Therefore I played though all the tracks in the game just trying to pass them first, ignoring coins, spirits, and gold medals entirely. I then purchased a bunch of vehicles only to find out that they weren't useable in story mode anyway...

Had I been aware of this from the start it would have definitely been much more efficient to go for gold on every track the first time through before moving on to the next since each track would already be fresh in my mind after getting silver. With the approach I took I basically had to re-learn every track when playing through them all a second time to go for gold.

I also made it a point to NEVER look up the locations of any coins or spirits because after all, what's the fun in the search-and-locate element of the game if you look up where things are? http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif

Now granted none of the coins/spirits were ridiculously hard to find, but there were at least a few dozen spirits that had me stumped for 5-10 minutes each, so this definitely had a big impact on my overall play time. When I progressed through all the stages for the 2nd time to get 100% I'd estimate that on average I spent more time searching for coins/spirits than I did going for gold. http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

I don't recall my first playthrough, but once and a while I get bored and start up a new game. However I play everyday online with 3 different profiles so I'm quite consistent with the levels. Gathering all Sprits, Coins, and gold medals take me about 5 hours to do
