Since all my friends now have ipod touch's/iphones we've taken to using social gaming software, of which OpenFeint seems to have come out a clear winner. It has achievements and a gamer score very similar to Xbox Live, and as a result, since there are sooo many games on the iphone I find myself only playing OpenFeint games, so that I can boost my score. I was wondering if RedLynx thought of incorporating something like this. I persume it costs money, but if there are more people like me then it will attract more users.

i think its free to use. We have checked lots of those similar community add ons but have not choose what to use.

I predict that OpenFeint and all the other achievement systems currently used in iPhone games will not last long, since Apple's official (iOS4) Game Center has all the same features. With the Apple Game Center you have gamertags, friends, achievements, leaderboards, online matchmaking, etc. It's better to have one official system for all games than use many separate unofficial systems.

I personally think that the official system is the best bet for all forthcoming games. We are following it's introduction with a great interest.

I agree, but where is Game Center, I thought it would come out at the same time as iOS4, but I haven't heard about it since.

EDIT: or to be slightly less lazy I could look it up myself.... turns out it's not expected until Fall/Autumn, which isn't too far away I guess.

It was launched for developers, so that we can start experimenting with the new system. Games naturally need to be patched in order to support all the new Game Center features.

Copied from Apple's official info:
"Game Center
The iOS 4 GM seed software and SDK includes a developer preview of the GameKit APIs that allows you to create apps that will work with Game Center, Apple's new social gaming network. Your users can invite friends to play a game, start a multiplayer game through matchmaking, track their achievements, and compare their high scores on a leader board. The APIs are available to you now and Game Center will be available to iPhone and iPod touch users later this year."

Now that Game Center has been released, what are the chances of MTN2 getting an update and integrating it?

It's out! Excellent, I can't wait to see what it's like.
(Also hoping RedLynx will support it http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif )

The exact and detailed answer to this question is just five posts above in this same thread http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

But you didn't answer if we were going to get a Game Center update for MTN2 http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
