Those who have the game now, what are you impressions of the sandbox editor? How does it compare to other editors you've used (Such as Worldcraft, Battlecraft, etc.)

Just curious. I downloaded the manual for the editor and it looks quite capable.

Thanks,

Chris

Where do I get the manual? The editor looks very simple to use, but I haven't a clue what the functions are...maybe if I read the manual... -_-

Check the sticky topic in this modding forum.

And yeah I really like the editor, really easy and fast once you learn the basics.

So, imho its the best editor out there, i allready tried hammer too, but sandbox is much better, it takes arround 90% less time to make a map, and the best, realtime editing + test your map in the editor.

I'm really impressed, you can do so many things, for example, add shaders to objects in the editor and much more...

Now i will continue work on my map http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Easily the best, most intuitive, fastest editor I have *EVER* used, bar none. (and this goes all the way back to Doom where I was an award winning level designer http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif )
This is the bar that all others must follow suit. Real time editing is the shiznit!

Layers can take some getting used to. But when you do its like photoshop, layers are without a doubt Very awsome.

I hope you guys are right, I'm about to delve into it and just reading the index of the manual is a headache...

180 pages? I don't read 180 pages of anything unless it has disembowelings in at least 3 chapters of it

I hope so! That was the best editor for any game... ever. MaxEd was nearly as good, but not quite http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
