All tracks tested with the Phoenix Evo 250cc (other bikes is not guaranteed to make it!)

Generally
I try to make tracks that I like my self. What I don't like is obstacles that require too much luck, and when it's too far between CP's. I therefore try to fine tune each obstacle and put in CP's at good places, if possible so you can just start forward to pass the obstacle if you fail the first time. If possible the obstacles also should have good flow if you do it correctly. I know for sure that none of my tracks is perfect regarding this, but some parts should be nice!
If you have trouble with a obstacle, and it seems random you're probably not using the correct technique.


THE TRACKS


LZ1_Trick-Tac
Hard
Medals: 0:45-0 / 0:50-2 / 1:20-10
Platinum time estimated by adding best my best times between CP's, so it should be more than enough! Want feedback on better times for platinum.

My first track, initially just to test the editor. Some tricky parts, but should be possible to do with good speed and flow.



LZ2_Multitrack
Medium, with optional elements of hard/extreme
Medals: 0:45-0 / 0:52-2 / 1:18-5
Platinum time estimated, want feedback on better times for platinum.
Author time: 0:49.065-0

Many different routes from start to finish on this one. The idea is "the harder it is, the faster it is", but I have not confirmed that this is completly true...
The first half of the track (up to the big drop before the fence) can be done very quickly if you get the flow right.
For an extra challenge (and lower time), go over the fence and take the roof-route to the finish!
Many spots in this track is adjusted for good flow.



LZ3_Panjandrum / LZ3_Panjandrum_easy
Extreme
Medals: No medal times set here, need feedback to set realistic times...

This can be quite hard, I had to make the easy version ("easy" as in "a little less extreme"...) as I had big problems finishing it my self! After doing all obstacles with not much problems when I designed them in the editor I discovered that it was not quite that easy to do it in one go, and do all obstacles flawlessly. Possible cause was me not being in perfect gaming mode - I hope...

The track has 2 backwards sections, that initially made some problems for me regarding CPs, as you can't activate a earlier CP than the last you have activated (rightmost you have passed is always the active). Had to move big sections of the track backwards to sort it out, but it was worth the extra work.
All obstacles should be possible to pass in a reliable way (more or less!)

The easy version is identical except for a few jumps that has been lowered a little, and a few extra CP's. If you can do the easy version, the normal version should be possible too.

Discovered a strange bug when designing this track, as I designed most of the track, then moved big parts left and just before finishing it I added the starting section (before the pile of logs). i observed that after restarting (if crashing before the logs) the very first rock would disappear from the screen, but only visually! If was possible to jump onto it, but I could not see it. No idea why this happened, and after rearranging a little it seems to be OK. The rock was at that time connected to the physics triggered when the explosions go off, so it would fall down when you jumped off it - when removing this it seemed to be ok.

Want feedback on medal times, and about which version to use (normal or easy).

20091220: Made an easier verison of this track, after a comment about the start being too difficult.
You stil need to do the jump on the slingshot, but it's now possible to stop after landing and going over the edge more controlled. Have also added platforms down the pit so secure a better and more predictable landing on the rock. Have done minor adjustment to other obstacles too, to put down the difficulty a little.

This tracks start with a slingshot backwards backflip followed by a backwards front wheel wheelie over an edge to a huge fall to the first CP. After jumping a full size standing tractor wheel you go over a section of pipes.
After the pipes it is an acrobatic and hectic section that ends on top of a steep ramp.
From there it's again some pole-acrobatics over some explosives.
The track ends with a medium long backwards section, that hopefully should not be any big problem if you make it this far!

Platinum time has (as usual) not been confirmed, but it should be more than enough time for an experienced rider - the problem would be to do it without faults! I guess <2 mins should be possible as I did it in 6 with 39 faults on my first test run.

My intention for this track was to make a quite short track with some very interesting obstacles. CP's will be placed in such a way that every obstacle must be cleared cleanly (so no crashing over the obstacle and over next CP on this one, that's a cheap way to finish a track anyway http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif ) Experience from previous tracks is that it can take enormous amounts of time to fine-tune and finish a track, so hopefully this one will be quicker to finish (as my plan was to not make any more tracks, due to the amount of time it requires - but it seems I can't stay away http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif )


LZ5_NukeAcrobaticon

Author time: 1.40.059-6 (did it in 1.27.666-6 before changing medal times.)

In this track you control mr Obama on his Bike Force One driving through the basement of the White House just minutes after the very short (but incredibly effective) WW3 he starts (and ends) on Feb 5th 2010. He has lots of unused nukes left in his basement, but some of them are unstable after the many impacts...can he make it to the end without doing any more mistakes?

This is a short track with some precition driving, and possible frustration (for the amature drivers). It might first look like luck is needed, but skill should be enough as all obstacles are quite predictable.
It will not be made an "easy" version of this track, as I feel it's already balanced. The track was made after the release of the DLC, but use no new objects.


LZ5_NukeAcro_v3

v3 replaces v2, changes are some of the cameras and adjustment of the decorations so the driving line is more visible than i v2.

This is a modified version of LZ5_NukeAcrobaticon. Many of the obstacles are made easier to (hopefully!) make the track more enjoyable. The info for LZ5_NukeAcrobaticon apllies to this one to (mostly).
As I got platinum on one of the first test runs (v2), I'm not sure if this is Extreme anymore, or just Hard. Anyway it should be possible to finish for most people now. Comments?

A medium difficulty track with good flow if done correctly. As name indicates the driving is mostly on rails and tyres.
Platinum time should be possible for experienced players within a few tries. Get the flow right and look for the shortcuts to secure the platinum, if not it can be a challenge. Platinum time is 39s, I think the track can be done in <37s but still have to do that myself.
Also contains a secret hidden route (no hope for medals on that route, so it's just for fun - or maybe no fun at all...who knows http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif )

This is a track with some extreme, but (hopefully) reliable obstacles. First half can be done quite quick, last half needs more care! The track has some high, and some steep obstacles. ^^^ i think that's the problem with the glitch where physics objects near a checkpoint can disappear on retry. it's being fixed in the patch.

you already know what i think of your tracks, guys do yourself a favor and grab these tracks now! (if you're up to a challenge)

When I made LZ3 my aim was hard, but mostly consistent obstacles (if you know how, it should be possible to to every obstacle in one or a few tries). In the editor it seemed fine, as I test and fine-tune each obstacles as I edit, but when combined to a complete level I needed an easier version.
LZ4 was also acceptable I felt (as I know how to do it), but I think the easy version is also the better version of LZ4. The original beginning was changed at the last moment because I discovered it was no need to go forward, and that emergency-solution was not perfect. The EASY LZ4 has a part of the floor falling down into place when you jump off to the right, so the platform at the start is equal to what it was before. It's therefore possible to jump, then stop and then lift the back wheel over the egde controlled.

By the way, I feel I have been exposed to many other and harder obstacles on other peoples extreme tracks than on LZ3 / LZ4, but then all is dependent on if you know the trick with each obstacle or not!

Thanks. Yeah, the track is still marked as "Extreme", so the "easy" in the name has nothing to do with the track being easy- it's just indicating that it is marginally easier than the normal version. I found no better word to use than "easy" http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif I should maybe remove the normal versions and remove the EASY from the file name - or will the normal version also be enjoyed?

I will take notice that both my extreme tracks needed an easy version if I design more of them, but then it can maybe discussed if if makes sense that a EXTREME track gets an easy version http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif - if some one download and play a extreme track he should already know what to expect...
The main thing I guess is to make obstacles that gives you a little slack, so you don't need to get it 100% correct each time, but maybe 95% - it can quickly be very annoying when all has to be 100% perfect all the time - and I know that I myself probably will give up after a resonable time if I get stuck...

Generally I would like the most difficult obstacle in the beginning og the track, not in the end - but then who knows what obstacle will be hard when designing...
