When you did your fresh install did you let it install where it wanted too or did you direct it to install somewhere else?

It shouldn't make any differance where the game is installed, mine is installed on second partition of my hard drive, AEP found it no problem. I am not sure how to solve your problem, but when I saw that there was no option for you to manually point it to the game folder during install, I thought this could be an issue at some point.

The problem has been discussed MANY times in community help forum... You would deal with it much faster if You just used "search" function mate...
I don't remember all solutions given by forum members, but on my computer, installing the game from autorun menu instead of "setup" file was the way to go. Try it, I hope it helps. If it doesn't work, you'll have to search for right thread anyway.

EDITED: for example look at last posts in this thread:

In my case it was a matter of trying to install AEP on top off FB 1.22. The manual of AEP states that it can only be installed over v.1.0 or v.1.21. I reinstalled FB (on D: ) and after that I had no problem with installing AEP. Don't know if the authors of the 2 previous replies are talking about the same but this worked for me...

Same exact thing for me and I have mine installed on my H drive.

Once I uninstalled, defragged, rebooted, reinstalled IL2:FB clean, rebooted, inserted Aces disc...no probs.

S! to all thanks for the quick replies what worked for me was to uninstall tehn go and delete the il2 fb folder as well then go to regedit and remove the registry key , reboot and hey presto , seems to be the comon thing if you have uninstalled il2fb any time before

Now that EAP is out in Europe and soon?? for Aussie's maybe someone with the know how could make that fix a sticky in both help & general dis.

It seems to be the most common problem with AEP and some days search works like a champ, other days like a chump, for me anyway.

Had the same problem.

Murdock's solution via "The Prof" above was simple, quick and worked for me.

Sorry for you guys!

But Il-2/FB has been remarkably trouble free on my system so far. Better than most other games/applications. Hats off to Oleg/krew!
