Just saw this link (http://gamerscoreblog.com/press/archive/2009/06/01/SummerofArcade9988899.aspx) posted by sebbbi in another thread.

After the first shock, which caused by reading this...
"Create, share and download an unlimited number of free tracks with the level editor, and customize your rider to fit your personality."
...i thought that it's time to start populating the TrialsHD section too.

The only kinda bad thought that i did was: Is this XBL exclusive? http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif

Anyway, i hope you will release more info soon. http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Well I wish the Redlynx team every success with this title on the Xbox. However I hope they support their PC fans with a PC release and ideally no later than the 360 version! I would have thought that given the apparent sales of Trials 2 they would proceed with the PC but you never know. Fingers, toes and other bodily parts are crossed!

Analog controls will be nice, and adds depth to the game.

I still hope for a PC version, but I can somewhat understand your choices. I can live with it, as I use my xbox 360 and computer on the same TV-screen, but I can also understand why some people are disappointed.

Anba is currently at E3 expo in United States demoing Trials HD. He will be back next weekend.

I was tinkering with Sipe to find some way to release the v1.09 update for Trials 2 SE, but there are very complicated issues in the patching process. Just before Christmas Trials 2 SE was released for box sales around europe (4 different versions): Finland, Germany, Russia, Spain & France. All these versions are packed with the tools made by the publishers of those versions and our patching system does not work properly with these versions. At least French & Spanish and Russian box versions will stop completely if we release a online automatic patch. This is a bad problem. We could however release the v1.09 patch only at our website without using the automatic system. This would not cause any problems (unless you have a Russian or French & Spanish box version of the game). Naturally this would not fix the wheelie exploit, as majority of the players would not patch the game to v1.09. Basically destroying the biggest fix in the patch. I will keep you informed about v1.09 patch issue in Trials 2 SE forums.

No, Trials 2 graphics/physics objects are much more simple (lower polygon count) and the texture set is not polished enough for HD console release. Also Trials 2 tracks did not have any floor height variations or any depth variation in the background walls making them look and feel pretty flat compared to the new tracks.

But we have several tribute Trials 2 tracks (like "Classic" was a tribute to Trials 1 in Trials 2 SE), and many of the best obstacle ideas have been reused in the new tracks. Also the physics in the new engine works much better so we have been able to make lots of old stuff work better.

Each track has a set of allowed bikes. You can select any bike that's allowed in the track. Different bikes have different strong and weak points, and require pretty different play style. In some tracks it's possible to get the absolutely best time with a certain bike, but it's much harder than getting a very good time with another. The first two bikes are only for beginners (to make the difficulty curve much easier), and are only allowed in beginner and easy tracks. If you have any experience with the game, you'll swap to a better bike right after the beginner tracks.

The final size of the package is not yet known, as we are still finalizing the game. We are aiming to get it to fit it to a 256 MB memory card, but I cannot yet promise anything.

How much size does the user created tracks take?

User created tracks take at most 8KB each. One hundred user created tracks take less than a single megabyte.

Is there a way to upload your track to the game server?

Yes, you can upload (share) your tracks (to a certain limit) and all your friends can browse your shared tracks and download them, even when you are not online yourself. Naturally you can also save your tracks (and the tracks you downloaded from your friends) to the Xbox hard drive and any of your memory units. We are releasing more detailed info about the track sharing later.

This is partly wrong. Each track is saved as a separate container which comes with some overhead. This means each user created track will take 64-72k even when the data chunk is limited to 8KB. 100 of those will take about 7 MB.

all trials 2 players should boycott playing this game in my opinion.. dont buy it.

This is kind of odd comment, since the whole idea to create an Xbox arcade Trials game came originally from the Trials 2 players right here at these forums. We got lots of feedback from reviewers and gamers around the net, countless private messages and e-mails and the message was clear: "Please create an Xbox version of this game!". And since E3 expo first day (when the game was finally announced) I have browsed a lot around internet forums and hands on impressions of the game. Players and reviewers are really delighted to see the game on Xbox 360. "Finally!" has been the comment I have seen countless of times. Most of these comments are from Trials 2 SE players and many of them have been eagerly waiting for the Xbox 360 version since last summer. I know that this decision has not pleased all our fans, but it's wrong to say that majority of the Trials 2 players are not pleased. This is just not the case here. Many of the Trials series fans are really waiting to get their hands on Trials HD currently.

The better Trials HD succeeds, the better we can create Trials series games in the future. In a long run all Trials games will boost the player base of the game series. As a result all possible future PC, console and handheld versions of the game will have a bigger fan base, more skilled competition in all track leaderboards, more user created levels, more active community forum and chat, more user created videos, more visibility in the media and even the possibility of tournaments with prices if the game gets really big in the future. These are all good things for the Trials series fans, including us (we are all hardcore players in the development team).

At the time when the Trials 2 SE Steam version was released we also got negative feedback from several players who have bought the original Trials 2 SE at our website, as the Steam version offered new features such as the Steam friend list and Steam chat and these players were unhappy to see a new version of the game. Now majority of the fans (including most of you) are playing the game because the Steam version was released. It boosted up the player base to 10 times the amount it was before. The Steam version was a very good thing for the Trials series. But it was not pleasing all our old fans. But look at the community now. Everyone is playing happily together the game they love.

And I wanted to add that I do not have any doubt that this forum is going to be the meeting place for all the best Trials players. Pros will still meet here and discuss about the best strategies for each track, how to pass the hardest obstacles, how to make advanced tricks to save the last 0.001 seconds of the time, which bike is best on what track/tournament, post their videos, ask players to join their friend list. etc etc.

I do not worry at all about the younger players ruining the game experience for us hardcore players. Most of them won't ever find this forum, and we keep moderating the forum to keep all unbehaving ones in check.

The best thing about Trials HD is all the new added friend features. For example you can see real time comparison of your position in the track compared to all your friends. All your friend results are seen in the Skill Game tracks (arrows point how high for example "Anba" jumped at the height jump level). It's also easy to compare your results to your friend list results. etc etc.

We soon have a big HD trailer coming up that shows a lot of in-game stuff and has some editor footage as well.

And now I am going to explain how the new in-game friend score comparision feature works:

Skill game friend scores:
http://download.eu.redlynxtrials.com/media/files/TrialsHD/Trials_HD_screen_07.jpg
This is the Delivery skill game. You have to haul the cart filled with bombs as far as you can in one minute time limit. If the bombs are shaken too much or fall out of the cart, they will explode. The score is simply the distance how far you can reach before the bombs explode or the time ends. While riding the track you can see the gamertags (player names) of the top 10 players in your friend list showing the positions where they have reached.

Trials racing friend scores:
http://download.eu.redlynxtrials.com/media/files/TrialsHD/Trials_HD_screen_10.jpg
This is one of the new hard racing tracks, called King of the Hill. You can see the friend comparison meter in the top of the screen. It shows in real time how much ahead/behind you are compared to the friend that is closest to you currently (and the player ranking - a feature not yet shown in this old screenshot). If you ride much faster or slower compared to the friend shown, the comparision meter will automatically swap to another friend that is closest to you. So you have always someone to race against. Currently I am racing against "jorsai2" (one of Jorma's test profiles).
