Hello!
The trouble is: If you stop during wheelie without touching the ground with the front wheel, roll back a little and start wheelie once more, total distance is a little more, then stopless ryde. Just watch top 3 replays on Wheelie1 and Wheelie2 to see what I am talking about.
And I think it would be fair to reset all scores on wheelie tracks after fixing it, even though these are my best score tracks:)

This happens because the wheelie distance is not calculated by the distance the back wheel center point travels. It's calculated from the bike center point, and if you are accelerating up and down all the time, the bike center point moves much more in up/down direction, increasing the wheelie distance.

The wheelie distance should be of course calculated by measuring the distance the back wheel center point travels. This change would fix this exploit.

And another question, sometimes, when you fall of some obstacle wheelie distance keeps growing in the air. Maybe it is so because back wheel touches vertical surfase, but in fact it's not a wheelie. But it is really not so critical. To illustrate it, see my replay on wheelie-2 time around 2:30.

Wheelie on vertical surfaces is also a wheelie. The surface angle does not matter. If you are dropping down and you keep your back wheel touching a wall during the whole drop, you get wheelie distance from the whole wall. However it's much harder to do wheelies on vertical surfaces, as there is no force drawing you towards the wall (on horizontal surface, the gravity keeps the bike backwheel on the ground).

If we change the wheelie counting logic, we have to remove all wheelie track high scores. Nothing has yet been decided.

I actually never felt much in love with the Wheelie tracks.

I dont mind resetting either, in fact I encourage redlynx to do it.. it's ridiculous the way it is now

Would there be no way to recalculate the current runs based on the new logic..? I don't mind having to redo mah wheelies either I guess, but still.

Yeah just reset the wheelie tracks. It's probably the easiest and fastest way. I dont want to drive these tracks again but its worth it to remove the glitch-results.

A good idea, by the way. In this way we can save top scores of players, who don' play any more.

redlynx should just remove the wheelie tracks all together and replace them with something more fun like how long one can chew on tin foil or how long one can take a burning cigarette to the eyeball http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

that being said, i vote for bug fix and reset. it is only fair.

ps. to conserve the top players scores who do not play anymore and didnt use the exploit, maybe a spot on the web site or on the forum(sticky) with an " * " beside the score.

And are you going to add there timer like it is in flip tracks? I think it could help too.

Other solution to simple reset is to add 1000 faults to every run. This way the old records would only dissappear after player makes a new run. Wouldn't really make a difference actually.

couldn't this be done right now rather than waiting for 1.09?
