AI pilots now strafe crashlanded planes EVEN when the pilots already bailed out!

Was looking over a rerun of a battle and noticed a 190 crashland. the pilot jumped out and ran. I was watching to see if the plane would vanish as is the norm, but then my AI P39 wingmen (2 of them) attacked the pilotless plane until it was destroyed!

Oleg`s way around the vanishing plane thing? Either way, it`s a great idea and more realistic! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Maybe this happened before, but I`ve flown FB a looong time and never seen that!

This program is still GREAT. THANKYOU.

They shoot at other AI aircraft that has crash landed and the AI pilot has bailed. I`m not talking about the PLAYER pilot. I haven`t had chance to see if they do it to the Player pilot. I think this is principally to remove those lying around empty AI planes. I guess I should have made that clearer... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Yes,

but aren‚¬īt they taking away your "claim" for kill - I mean - you get the plane down, plane made belly landing and before it disappears and credit you a kill, some AI mate gets the kill instead of you.
Isn‚¬īt it?

LOL! I just knew someone would turn a POSITIVE point into a NEGATVE here! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif Ishould have made a bet on the bookies today!

Well, your kill might easily be grabbed like this in reality. Just make sure when he goes down he`s not in a position to crashland. But see my other thread http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=400102&f=23110283&m=532101375

It seems AI will strafe only under CERTAIN circumstances.

Let`s not whine this time, Oleg`s got enough bad news - this is GOOD news for once! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I know you want this thread to stay a POSITIVE thread but....I cant find anything positive in this:

Some pals of me are wasting time strafing a plane I shot down 5 minutes ago while Im trying to save the life of me 5 km's away agaisnt 3 opponents
While strafing, 2 of the 4 friendly planes crashed on the ground

thats funny you talk about strafing cuz I saw this situation last night...

Oh no, I do not want to whine. I agree with you that it looks more realistic. For instance Germans had part of victory report dedicated to finishing plane on the ground.
And taking over of my sure kill happens also in the air combat within IL2FB, not only on the ground.
But if I hit fuel tank of my enemy or if his engine start smoking, I sometimes chase him so long until he run out of fuel or until his engine is broken down. He must make belly landing. If some AI guys in that moment arrives and finish my victim. Than I must really say THANK YOU after 5, 10 or 15 minutes of chase http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Is it me or is ORR cursed?

I bet you never even read my other thread on the different conditions that AI may strafe under. Well, I`ve done my bit, if ya all want to drown Oleg in negativity, it`s outta my hands.

"Thank you Oleg for my cancer tumor and my blue screen!"

The art of positivity in everything.

yes Seafire, I agree with you that the plane vanishing thing removed is a goood thing at its base...but look at the implications:

1. More kill stealing than ever

2. we all know the AI has difficulty maneuvering at low alttitude, so its just another way for the AI to commit suicide, and believe me, they make the most of it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

3. it looks lame when you see the AI finishing a crashlanded plane over its OWN territory
Captured planes were wayyyyyy more statifying that destroyed planes

EDIT: 4. again it puts in evidence the bad target prioritising of the AI. it is SO frustrating to call for help cuz you are in deep trouble, hear your pals say OK Im on it to finally see em 5 km's away strafing a plane YOU shot down...GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

Im sorry but the positive aspect you are pointing at therefor creates some other negative issues...

Well, at least its negativity in a positive manner http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

"As weaponry, both were good, but in far different ways from each other. In a nutshell, I describe it this way: if the FW 190 was a sabre, the 109 was a florett, or foil, like that used in the precision art of fencing." - G√ľnther Rall
