Heya fellas,

Ive been going through the forums for the last few hours now, and my searches arent working (Error).

I just got the game today. (IL2 FB/AEP/Gold Pack) Went through the first 2 training missions.

Ive been playing LOMAC and have an X-45 setup with a custom profile. What I need to know is where to put Tully's file at in IL2. (dont want to corrupt anything).

Also, what else, if anything there is that I need to do to get up to speed.

This game is already rocking im my opinion, just dont want to look like a ******* when I start playing online with yall and shooting down friendlies http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Sorry about the noobish question, Yes, I went to CrazyIvans Sticky, ALOT OF HELP THERE!!! Got me where I needed, fast. Just had a few more Questions.

Also, if anyone is willing to take a Newb under his wing and show him the ropes, I will http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif to you.

The first thing you should do, as fast as you can is read the thread; "the vanishing online full real servers for the IL2 series".
Then you will see you can fly someplaces online, make mistakes and possible recieve helpful critique instead of a lambasting.

Get on Hyperlobby and look for servers with the hardest settings you can find. For some reason it seems a lot of cool poeple hang out on them that won't mind you at all, and will respect you just for being there and trying.

Don't get whiney, get even. shoot with your guns. And hey! I have dual 10k36gig raptors on raid0 also, but on a win2000nforce2xp3200.

Built it about 2 months ago.

Kinda upset now I see XPCI (WITH SLI FX6800 EVEN!!!!!) and now the FX53 CPUs with the new boards.

Fellas, I really need some luv over here.

I just went into a mission and could not fire even with "Tully's" X-45 set up loaded in.

The one button made me eject even.

Give a Dog luv please. A few moments is not to much to ask http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Do yourself a favor and get on ebay or somewhere and pick up a Microsoft Precision 2 joystick. It is the best non-force feedback stick ever made. Dead reliable and accurate. I have been using ONE since day one and have never altered any of it's curves since i started using it, and it has never had a breakdown. There still might be some of these for sale here and there on the shelves of local electronics boutiques. The quality and performance blows everything else away and makes them look like kiddie toys.

Welcome Law.

My recommendation would be to do your initial testing and setting up of hardware using the QMB simply for testing. Once you're satisfied with the performance and controller settings, then venture online.

I equate it to going to the driving range a bit before playing a round of golf...it just works better.

Also, I don't have or use an X-45 or I'd offer some help there. Stick around and I'm sure someone will stumble along to give you a leg up.

Welcome LawDog. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Got to be hardcore to police the USMC. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif Although I don't know why you'd try to take flying lessons from a Marine. (Viper) http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Ask a service menber a question about their services type of airpower:

The Army: Has rotorwing aircraft

The Navy: Has carrier based aircraft

The USAF: Has fixed wing aircraft

The USMC: Has urgga uhhh uhh ahhh ZOOM!

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/88.gif

Seroiusly, though, there are good people and pilots in all settings. A bit of practice, some tweaking, and you'll be good to go.

Btw, I'm USAF C-130 mechanic, and I thank all you guys out there doing what you do. Much respect to you and your service. Welcome!

Good hunting,

What X-45 profiler are you using? Tully's is set up for the hazardscript. If you are using Saitecks profiler then you will need something different like adlabs or make your own.

If you care to fly with a group then check us out at the 131st_VFW (http://131st.fighter-planes.net/)

We are the IL2 group the Lomac group are under different command staff.

If you have already joined the VMF-513 good choice. If not I could use a Pilot with military background, if our shceduling works for ya.

The X-45 profile linked in my sig is for SST.

If you haven't opened it and had a look at the command names, keys are as follows:

Trigger - fire machine guns
Button A - fire cannons
Button B - Bombs/torpedos
Button C - Rockets
Fire (under the safety guard) - eject

Hat 2 (below the fire button) - Mouse pan
Hat 2 + pinkie shift - Mouse pan slow

Hat 1 (left of buton A)
Up - flaps up
Down - flaps down
Mode 1 left - toggle gear
Mode 3 left - padlock enemy
Mode 3 left + pinkie shift - padlock friendly
Mode 3 right - padlock next
Mode 3 right + pinkie shift - padlock enemy ground

Mode 1 Button D - Wheel brakes
Mode 3 Button D - Snap to forward view while padlocked
Button D + pinkie shift (any mode) - toggle map
Moue fire - Left control key (transmit for TS and Ventrilo comms software)

Mouse hat (the little orange thingy under your left thumb)
Left - Wide view
Right - Zoom view
Left + pinkie shift - Normal view
Up - toggle gunsight
Down - toggle cockpit

Throttle hat
Up - look down
Down - look forward (snaps to view to centre after using mouse pan)
Left - trim rudder left
Righ - trim rudder right

The rotaries are programmed in game for elevator trim and prop pitch. The profile is set up with the intention of using mode 1 for take off and landing and mode 3 for everything else.

The file doesn't go in IL2, it should be placed in C:\Program Files\Saitek\Software (assuming your saitek drivers are installed in the default location) and loaded via the system tray icon for your X-45. You did install the Saitek drivers in Advanced/Expert mode didn't you?

If you or anyone would like a Hazard or XDProfile profile for the X-45 using Dhauzimmer's drivers, I can provide already made versions very similar to the assignements above, or customise as required. Just send a private message to me http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.
