I don't really care much for most online games, but a friend recommended this one to me. Does anyone here play it? Is it any good?

I am also interested.

Particularly, how are the flight models?

I'm actually about to take a break from my squad, so I won't be playing much. But not because of the game. They've come a long way recently. They've bumped the graphics up a notch, gameplay is much better - especially for infantry and navy -and the new deployment system makes it a real strategic game.

What WW2OL has always had is all of France in a combined-arms sim. Setting up on a hill and seeing action happening a few miles away is very immersive. The battlefield is efeftcively unlimited. It is a game for the patient, it ain't Quake,

Go for a free trial sometime soon. If you can get a good group it's a fantastic game.

The FM's aren't anywhere near Il2's. WWIIOL has a snaproll and weak stall. Theres no chance of a spin. There is a lot lacking. I used to play, was part of a squad and even led many missions. Very good ground action, but the air is stale. Unfortunately I have heard the makers to state the original designer of the FM has things in such a maze they won't ever be able to fix it within a patch (it would need to be remade in a whole new game).

But, since you've never expierenced it I suggest you buy 1 month and try it. You'll get hooked for sure, join a squad, and have fun. Later on you'll see why so many other airmen have left and leave also. I've been playing IL2 almost as long at WWIIOL (started WWIIOL months before IL2), and there is only one game with which I am still brings me great satisfaction.
