MY Emil is getting too hot on the Libyan map, even though it's early morning and the sun hasn't risen yet!?

She's flying at 1500 .. and doesn't she look bootiful! ..poetry in motion http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Only solution I've found is to get as high as possible, as soon as possible. Then heat problem gone. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Boom & zoom, and make the zooms loooong, that way you spend most of your time over 1500m http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

In RL The radiator was opened fully on ground before taxiing, even in europe, the Finns did too. Otherwise the engine easily overheated on ground. After takeoff it was switched to auto.
--------------------------------------

Sadly I have displaced an article on 109 performance in desert conditions, but I have a vague memmory that they used fully opened radiator as much as possible, on altitude too.

(i'll report back if I find it)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

A good tip on how to cool the engine:
The 109 picks up speed fast so U can throttle down in dives or whenever u descend.
I even throttle down frequently in battle to increase my turn and in dives and loops.

Keep an eye on the clouds. If you are constantly overheating U can hide in clouds and throttle down and cool off for a longer period.
Remember that the clouds work almost as in real life and that u can be seen in the cloud from above or below even if u only se white around U. So if u have an enemy behind and below, climb up higher in the cloud so u disappear.
