View Full Version : Do you play FB all year round?

For me, FB is more like winter sports. And now that the weather is warming up, i'm playing less and less FB. I can't stand staying indoors in front of a computer when the weather is nice outside. I'd rather be biking.

How about you guys? Do you have a life outside of FB or are you total flight sim geeks all year round?

Might as well ask if we breath all year round.
I hear outdoors and nice weather in particular is overmodeled. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/10.gif
Gotta find a way to put the sun on a slider

I'd like to keep flying, but my mileage on the bike will pick up from this point on. Got some good races coming up this summer. Evenings only for me. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Obviously in the Northern hemisphere. The question should be 'Do people living on the Equator play FB all year round or never at all?

if you're serious about the races. you better spend your evenings on the trainer or sleeping early.

Once a patch is far enough overdue the changes will be really big and it's a drag playing with all the errors I know will or might be fixed. So IL2/FB can be every seasonal with months of very little attention.

I hope by the time PF comes out that the sim engine will have finally matured and not need new clothes. Then PF will be stable from the start but then that's a hope anywho.

All year 'round... evenings mostly (2-3 nites a week).. but weekends during the "nice weather" season I spend more time outdoors.. riding the Harley or RV camping...

Do you play FB all year round?

No. Only on Christmas. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/53.gif

But seriously I play it whenever I find the time. Which is often... I don't have much of a social life you see. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/51.gif

I'm a WW2 nut! Of course I do! I fly 30+ hrs a week of FB! (and I also fly at least 1 hr a week for real)
THe only problems for me are the summers. I get jobs, but I still fly as often as I can.

(Might go to Russia and fly a MiG-29 this summer)

If I'm serious? Well, I'm a licensed USCF racer. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif If I've put in 75 miles Saturday morning on top of the 125 from the rest of the week, then certainly I can afford to ditch the trainer Saturday night and blast some bogeys. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I have to go Bass fishing in the Spring when the big ones are biting. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif
Golf is nice on Tuesdays, but other than that ... my 2 kids, the wife, working 10 - 12 hours a day and doing yardwork on my 1 day off a week, I have lots of time to play FB year 'round. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif

Damn straight all year round!

I work outdoors cutting trees all year round. When it's too cold (-20 or worse) I get to stay in and fly. On a day like today, hot and muggy, hauling logs around and wearing chainsaw pants (which is like wearing snow pants at the beach), I'm delighted to stay in at night and fly a bit. And I pray for rainy weekends so I can lie on the couch all day, fly for a few hours, and not feel guilty.
