where are some neat places to fly in FB/AEP? I know of the oasis in the OnlineMT map and the two castle things and the fortress in Crimea, but there has to be more than that on other maps.

Well...fly over Caen on the Normandy map and spot the castle in the north eastern quadrant of the city. Very beautiful.

Also, the very north eastern section of the Normandy map has some really neat looking channels and bridges.

There's also a castle in the middle of the Ardennes map (at a crossroads, forget where exactly).

Where's the castle in the Crimea map?

the first castle is before Yalta and the second is just after it when u are flying southwest, and the fortress is about 5 miles after the second castle.

If you like a Mountain Retreat, try the south~east corner [lower right] of the Kuban map. Awsum. This is what FB maps should look like. When you see this you will also see why many want a China map (or better, a map of China http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif ).

Do you know how many Chinese pilots flew into mountains?

No? ---> http://www.dalnet.se/~surfcity/sino-japanese.htm

Very Excellent reading material LEXX_Luthor. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif
I haven't seen many books or print about China's Aces during WW2.
And outside of the Japanese Air Units... they had been fighting in the Skies for 9 long Years defending China.
It's the same story for many of the Countries such as Italy, China, Finland, Greece, France, and many more... that the Histories of their Air Units and Air Actions are a Blank Void... left unwritten.
Maybe some young writers will take the challage and start getting these stories before they are lost to time.
Again Thank's for the Link. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Under "1937"... or here http://www.dalnet.se/~surfcity/sino-japanese-1937.htm

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>Captain Chan found himself all alone facing three IJAAF Ki-10s led by Major Miwa. In what appeared to a challenge to "single combat", Miwa apparently ordered his wingmen to circle above while he took on Chan alone. [http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/52.gif] Chan saw Miwa dive at him from above. Chan countered by pulling his nose up to face Miwa head-on. Anticipating that Miwa would need to pull out of his dive after they pass each other, Chan pulled into a tight chandelle. He was into his manoeuvre even before Miwa passed him head-on. As a result, Chan was able get turned around and was above and behind Miwa when he began to pull out of his dive. Taking advantage of his position for a zero-deflection shooting pass, Chan shot up Miwa's Ki-10, sending it crashing into a field near Ta Meng. Miwa was pulled from the wreckage alive but later died of his injuries.

After seeing their flight leader downed, the two remaining Ki-10s dived into the attack.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Cap'n Chan goes on to be forced down, and lived but injured enough never to fly again.

Try the Leningrad map, there are some fortresses on islands and Helsinki is rather interesting.
